“A nice small hotel in Matamata”
We were in Matamata for a wedding at Hobbiton. We stayed two nights and it was a great place to stay. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. There is a grocery store across the street from the hotel. This is a small and well maintained property. I would stay here again.

A great choice if you are staying in Matamata. Stayed for the night before going to the 830am Hobbiton tour. “Matamata Central Motel ”
I stay two nights at Matamata Central Motel. I stayed in the front studio unit it was spotless great shower pressure. “Clean, cozy, friendly and quiet!”
We were greeted warmly and had a great night’s stay! My room was just a bedroom, kitchenette & bath while my friends had a little suite with a very spacious & comfy sitting room. And only a :10 drive to Hobbiton for our tour the next AM. Highly recommend!

Great place to stay and would definitely recommend and stay there again. Very friendly and happy host. Took us to our room and showed us around which is quite unusual these days.
