“Excellent stay for a night”

Stayed July 2024 with family of 5 in a one bedroom apartment for one night while driving between the fjords and Oslo. There is a separate bedroom for parents, while the kids slept in the cozy bunk beds and they setup and additional bed for my 3rd child. The room was large, recently updated, had a well equipped kitchenette and we all slept well. It's an ideal room for a family. The balcony was huge and offered a nice view to the north of the ski hill. The hotel itself is stylish and has been recently updated while still preserving the character and history. It gives the feeling of being in an authentic Norwegian mountain hotel. There is no need for air conditioning even in July, since Geilo is about 750m above sea level and the nights are quite cool. Location would be good for skiing, though I would recommend a car as there appears not to be groceries within walking distance. Parking was ample and free of charge (nice surprise in Norway). The pool is really nice and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it. An added bonus is the laundry facilities on site that allow you to do your own laundry for a small fee. Laundromats are very few and far between in Norway. We didn't eat breakfast here, but instead picked up some things from Circle K. I would absolutely stay here again, and I highly recommend especially for families.

“Brilliant cabin!”

Bardola hotel was a good place to stay for two nights on our Scandinavian odyssey adventure. Second to last stop, Geilo! The hotel check in staff were very friendly, and we had booked a family cabin, number 615. The cabin was spacious for the four of us, although it would have been a squeeze for the ten people it was advertised for. The layout consisted of a downstairs floor with a lounge and kitchen, plus two Small bathrooms, one with a shower, and two bedrooms with two beds in each. The top floor was a surprise, as it had a very low ceiling. For me, this wasn’t exactly an issue, although it wasn’t suitable for my parents to come up. The cabin was nice and cosy, although there were a few minor issues that need to be sorted out. These issues were the ceiling height on the top floor as it wasn’t really suitable for adults or taller people. Another issue was that when we needed some change for the washing machines to put in a wash load they couldn’t offer any change. The last problem was that was the description of the cabin made It seem a little more spacious than it actually turned out to be and it was advertised for 10 people, again, it was spacious for the four of us, but for 10 people, it would be a squeeze. And on a good note, the hotel had a lot of really good bonuses such as a really amazing Pool which was large and had facilities as well such as a sauna and there is a gym. If you were in the hotel you get these for free, but if you’re in the cabin, you have to pay for this. The restaurant in the hotel was a great option for when we were staying in the cabin. We came here two nights in a row and the food was delicious. The portions for children were perfect and the spaghetti Bolognese and burger were delicious. Highly recommended, good stay. In the words of my younger brother, it was “ Bro!” ( very good! )
