Complete package with 3 treatment procedures per day and all meals; bought through Balneomedica.ro Paid: 4040 RON The room was at the seventh level Pros: ⁃ Excellent service at treatment base (massage, hydro massage and hydro gymnastic) ⁃ Beautiful location within the green trees and vegetation Cons: - The hotel does not look as a 4 stars hotel ⁃ Small parking lot with not enough spots for all customer cars ⁃ Small hotel room: 4mx3m plus a hall and a bathroom; that was mine, they might have bigger rooms. - Waiting time to get checked in because the room was not ready - The check in papers to be filled in by the customer that will wait in the line first to get the papers and then second time to handle the papers to the front desk operator ⁃ Only one power plug in the whole room - The safe in the room doesn’t have any operating instruction and seems to be nonfunctional; I couldn’t use it. - The welcome package in the room with few advertising flyers were reused from previous customers, with folded corners and stains on them. ⁃ Lack of building maintenance unacceptable for a 4 stars hotel (see the balcony pictures) ⁃ The fan in the bathroom is running continuously and cannot be turn off without removing the card from power slot and shut down everything in the room ⁃ No paper tissues available in the room or bathroom ⁃ The computer available in the lobby for customers use is malfunctioning, with wrong displaying locked settings making reading the screen impossible and very slow on internet ⁃ Requesting to use the luggage room: the door key couldn’t be found, when was found the room was cluttered with hotel staff and materials ⁃ Absolutely no any common sense measures against the Covid 19 virus (6 people allow to travel in the 1.5mx1.5m elevator) The restaurant and the treatment base will be captured in different reviews.

“Balneo treatments and spa still good/mixed feelings in pandemic times”

I have visited this hotel during a visit in Romania to see my family. I am a returning guest to the hotel and can say that accommodation is still good and I got the room I requested over the phone. I have visited this hotel during a visit in Romania to see my family. I am a returning guest to the hotel and can say that accommodation is still good and I got the room I requested over the phone. Treatment base and spa is still good , although not as extraordinary compared to my previous visits. They lost some very good employees and (at least for some treatments I have done ) I can say that service is not the same, but still good as I mentioned. But positive parts kind of stop here. This hotel is going down and is not even close to 4 stars it pretends to be - other the price. First of all the covid measure are almost non existent here. Hotel is not enforcing any covid measures other than some signs asking to wear masks inside the hotel (majority of the people totally ignoring them). Imagine a very small and crowded elevator where people no masks start to cough in your face. If you ask them to put the mask on they look at you like you are an alien. Nevertheless that prices went up significantly compared to my last visit few years ago . I do not mind paying for something I feel is truly worth, but on this time regrettably I felt that this was not the case for the most part. Hotel is receiving daily guests for interior and exterior pools , in pandemic times?! For indoor pools where one needs to cross some of the treatments area and indoor pools are small and no enforcement on the number of people inside?! Common!!!! Other hotels in Baile Felix, even at 3 stars (e.g. Termal) do not do that. I have a friend who stayed the same period at Termal, they have clear masks enforcement policy and cleaning stations at every floor and dinning tables. It was a wedding in the restaurant on a Sunday evening and they moved the dinning to a small room. Due to space limitations, people had no choice but to eat outside, at cold temperature and in the dark. They did not even bothered to turn on the lights on the side of the terasse. Common - is this a 4 star hotel?! It screams - is all about money!!!! For the first 6 days, in the restaurant to get forks and knives you need to put your hands in a common tray, where anybody can touch anything. After that forks and knives started to be individually paper wrapped, but not the spoon for soup and teaspoons from sweets section. Clearly the pandemic measure are not properly followed here, mostly they have just postage signs to wear masks, totally ignored by most of the people and not enforced. Romanians generally are much inclined to believe in conspirations theories and ignore the virus existence and spreading, but is a matter of respect of other people and hotel should enforce the rule not only post some print outs. The fact that they allow daily visits to common areas were treatments take place and interior pool is a lack of protection from hotel side. I understand hospitality industry suffered a lot and they need to recup somehow, but people safety should not be ignored. No surprise that now Romania reached over 15000 new cases per day (declared!, who knows how many are undeclared!) This hotel used to be good and I used to enjoy it, but pretty much that is a matter of past now. Food is buffet style, again very few people wear mask till they got seated. Quality of food is so and so, but you can find something to like. Just not for a 4 star restaurant. I hope this is just a transitory state and it will come back. Hotel was full, it seems that people do travel which is good for the business. Would I recommend?! Honestly, not now. I hope this pandemic will stop or hotel will truly show more concerns about guests protection
