We stayed as a couple for 3 nights at the hotel The resort is clean, safe, peaceful, with friendly and amazing staff. The Marina Beach was the highlight, it was clean and safe, and has direct access from the resort. We could enjoy long walks with no interference from vendors or vagrants. This is a blue flag beach with lifeguards. Tips Upon arrival at the resort, park near the front desk to get a code to use to gain access through the gate. Use the code at the visitors lane and not the residents lane. Also perhaps phone the hotel a day in advance to try and see if they can give you the code to enter. At check in there are complimentary orange juice, biscuits, and treats which was really nice. The reception will require your ID number to complete the facial recognition process. This is used when leaving and arriving at the main gate and for the beach access. There is ample parking near the Marina beach entrance for cars and golf carts, which is within the resort. You can get a free umbrella before you exit the beach by the security. This is only for the guests within the resort The samoosas at the Beach Bite cafe (near the exit to Marina Beach) are extra small. This is extremely disappointing for the price. However, the fried potato chips were delicious, hot and flavourful. Pool/beach towels are available at reception. There are two complimentary small bottles of water provided every evening in the room. The hot water in the showers is not steaming hot. We opened the hot water tap when having a shower and didn't open the cold water tap at all. The hot water tap needs to be left opened for 5 minutes before you get hot water coming through. The room has complimentary teas and coffees. There were shower gels and shampoo. There is a mini bar fridge, safe, hangers in the cupboards and a blanket. If you need an iron for clothes the staff will bring it to the room. The Lagoon restaurant requires a reservation. A reservation can be made at reception or by dialling 100 in your room. The Lagoon restaurant has vegetarian options, a spinach pasta, a vegan chickpea pasta and a butter vegetarian curry. It is recommended to ask if they have stock of the items. When I asked there was no stock, however they prepared a vegetarian pasta with vegetables that were available. The pasta and curry were both delicious meals. I found the pasta (R160) and buffet (R220pp) very affordable. The portions of the food were more than adequate. At breakfast, guests are allowed one complimentary cappuccino or latte or hot chocolate. The breakfast had everything that one could ask for: cereals, yoghurts, cold meats, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms, toast, scones, muffins, banana bread, a variety of teas and coffee. Some guests asked for lamb sausages as this was not part of the breakfast buffet and they were accommodated. Examples of Accommodating Staff The patio door in the room could not be closed, so we asked the lady who came to drop the water in the evening if she could help. She attempted to help, however after several failed attempts she immediately asked someone to come and assist. When Patrick arrived, he attempted to assist and advised he needed to log this and work will be done tomorrow. Without reminding the staff, the door was fixed the next day. Thandolwethu at reception always assisted with a smile and friendliness. Philani at the restaurant accommodated our vegetarian requests. When I made a reservation at the restaurant I informed him we are vegetarian and if a vegetarian pasta can be made as there was a buffet with limited options, he more than adequately accommodated us. Also for breakfast falafels were brought to our table. This was the first hotel where we noticed that the staff were always happy and more than willing to go the extra mile to make guest happy. I would recommend the resort hotel and stay again.

“Excellent Service”

We have enjoyed ourself, home away from home. Excellent service from the staff and I will come back again. It doesn't matter about the distance from Pretoria, quality is the best.

“San Lameer - Easter Weekend 2026”

1 star for cleanliness as we got dirty shot glasses with lipstick stains with our shots in it. Hotel shower water could also be hotter as water was luke warm and frustrating.
