We had the most unforgettable stay at Zazu Private Game Lodge — truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our whole family. Zazu was previously called Masodini. From the moment we arrived, the hosting was exceptional. Every member of staff showed such genuine kindness and generosity, going above and beyond to make us feel at home. What really stood out was how incredible they were with our children — engaging them in exciting, educational, and genuinely fun bush experiences that kept them captivated from start to finish. A very special highlight was how the team helped us celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. They organised a beautiful surprise with cake, singing, dancing, and bubbly — it was thoughtful, joyful, and something we’ll never forget. The food and drinks deserve their own mention — every meal was outstanding, and the drinks were creative, delicious, and perfectly crafted. Dining here felt like a treat every single day. Leanne and Christine were absolutely fantastic — so knowledgeable, warm, and passionate, which made the entire experience even more meaningful. The game viewing was simply phenomenal. We were lucky enough to see rhino, elephants, lions, leopards, giraffe, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, and even wild dogs. Watching giraffes and waterbuck wander past while we were having breakfast was just magical. The lodge itself is stunning — especially the beautiful pool, which was the perfect place to relax and soak it all in between drives. Zazu is a truly special place. The memories we made here as a family will stay with us forever, and we cannot wait to return.

Our recent stay at Zazu Private Bush Lodge (formerly Masodini Private Game Lodge) in Kruger National Park was fantastic. Although the property is currently undergoing renovations, the existing lodge offers a outstanding great experience which will only get better once the updates are complete. Through our whole stay the owners and staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Their hospitality truly set the lodge apart. Every detail was thoughtfully managed, and the team consistently went above and beyond, greeting us personally, welcoming us back after each game drive, and making sure all of our needs were met. We also felt very safe throughout our stay. As first-time safari travelers, we weren’t quite sure what to expect, but the experience exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. The food was beautifully prepared each day. One of the most highlights was the lodge’s setting. The pool overlooks a nearby watering hole, where we were able to watch elephants just yards away while relaxing. Overall, our stay was memorable and truly special. The value for what we paid was also extremely reasonable. We would highly recommend Zazu Private Bush Lodge to anyone the park and looking for a safari lodge.

Our three-night stay at Masodini was an absolute gem of a breakaway from the city hustle and bustle. Being attended to by friendly, competent and knowledgeable staff in a way that was not intrusive added to the relaxed atmosphere. The game drives were superb with excellent sightings. Particularly gratifying was the time spent at the pool which has a view of a waterhole with abundant game and birdlife passing at all hours. This was complimented with quiet bushveld nights which were only "disturbed" by the occasional roar of a lion. We'll be back!

This is the lodge to watch!!!! A young couple (mid twenties) own and manage the lodge and really excel at what they do. Their commitment to service is amazing. The food is outstanding, communal areas face on to a waterhole which elephants frequent and bathe in.The rooms are great with very comfortable beds. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are so accomodating. Every area is spotless even the vehicle!!! Leanne the ranger is a joy and really works to find you the animals. Leopard sighting was awesome and the lions were on the hunt. They are rebranding to Zazo and creating a lodge that is both awesome and very i keeping with the bush. Well done Liam and Stephanie, you really are creating something special
