We recently stayed at Alquería de los Lentos for a romantic anniversary getaway, and I honestly can't recommend it enough. From the very beginning, Christoph was lovely and incredibly helpful over WhatsApp — especially considering I was working with a budget. He really went above and beyond, and when we arrived, we were surprised with an upgrade to a suite and a small bottle of cava waiting for us to use during our hot tub booking. Such a thoughtful and generous touch! The place itself is absolutely breathtaking — peaceful, full of charm, and you can clearly see how much care and dedication has gone into creating it. Even though we visited in cold and rainy weather, I can only imagine how magical it must be during the warmer months when the gardens and patios come to life. That said, the chilly weather didn’t stop us from enjoying the highlights: the cozy chimney in our room and the outdoor hot tub were just perfect. Sitting in the warm water with the cold rain falling around us was such a unique and romantic experience — definitely something we’ll never forget. We were a bit disappointed we couldn't use the hammam, which is something I really enjoy in winter. Unfortunately, it wasn’t operating during our stay — as they require a minimum of 10 people, or as a couple, it costs €100 — €100 for two people felt like too much to be worth it. Perhaps offering occasional scheduled sessions for smaller groups or couples at a more accessible rate could be a great solution. Now, onto the food — and first, a huge congratulations to Chef Mario Martínez, who I must say is absolutely outstanding. I genuinely couldn’t find a single fault in anything he prepared for us. Every dish was beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned, and packed with flavour. The waitresses were also absolutely lovely — helpful, polite, and attentive without being intrusive, which really added to the overall dining experience. At first glance, the menu prices seemed high, but once we saw the portions and experienced the quality, it made total sense. On our first night, we shared the tomato and mozzarella salad and the lomo alto. The salad, made with their own tomatoes and olive oil, was probably the best I’ve ever had. Starters are priced at around €18–20, which felt a bit too expensive — especially for something like a salad. Perhaps offering smaller portions at a lower price could make the starters feel more accessible, while still showcasing the same amazing quality. For dessert, we tried both the brownie and the cheesecake — both homemade, and absolutely divine. I couldn’t recommend them more! On the second night, we shared the pulpo and calamar, and again, it was more than enough food and cooked to perfection. Breakfast was also great value — simple, fresh, and affordable, a lovely way to start the day. Honestly, I think this might just be my favourite restaurant ever. The area itself is wonderfully quiet, ideal for hiking or simply unwinding. There’s a small town (Nigüelas) just a short walk away, full of authentic charm, with a few local bars and shops and you’re not too far from Granada or even the coast if you feel like venturing out. If I had to point out one small fault, it would be the pillows — they weren’t the most comfortable, and a bit of an upgrade there could make a big difference. Also, the positioning of the sofa and TV in the suite wasn’t ideal; maybe having the TV mounted on the opposite wall would make for a better, more comfortable viewing setup. All in all, this was a magical little escape, full of warmth, charm, and excellent food. I can’t wait to come back — hopefully during sunnier days to enjoy the gardens, pool and maybe catch the hammam in action!
