Hotel muy recomendado para corta estancia en Almaden. Mi pareja y yo venimos dos veces al año a visitar parientes y siempre nos quedamos en el Gema. Las habitaciones son muy completas (con hidromasajes, secador de pelo y TV) y sencillas, al igual que los buffets de desayuno, comida o cena. "Hotel highly recommended for short stay in Almaden. My partner and I live in Tooting Broadway (London) and we use to come twice a year to visit our family and we always stay at the Gema. The rooms are simple, but homely and complete (bathtub, hydromassage, hairdryer and TV included). The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are good: inconspicuous, but generous at the same time."

“See the real Spain”

good quality, clean rooms, on a par with premier inns. Good sized, and equipped bathrooms. Maid service very efficient. Breakfast basic but fine, very nice coffee. Very helpful staff. Yes we would deffinately visit again.

I reviewed this hotel July 2013. I revisited it again this week for a week. Great hotel and even better staff. I reviewed this hotel July 2013. I revisited it again this week for a week. Great hotel and even better staff. Just one major problem: could not sleep, there is a church about 100 metres from the hotel and the bell rings on the hour: four o'clock four times etc. Just to add to my misery it rings the number for the hour and two minutes later repeats the process again. All the people staying in the hotel were complaining at breakfast. Net result hardly anyone slept after 5am. We all had to work as it was a business trip. As much as I like the place I will not be returning to Hotel Gema when next in Almaden. Lo siento much!

“DECENT DIGS FOR AN OFFBEAT WORLD HERITAGE SITE”

The property is well situated in the middle of town for viewing several aspects of the World Heritage Site. Both the exterior and interior are unassuming. Reception staff was very pleasant. A different covid protocal was towels, shampoo and a comb all in plastic. The room size was decent, the bathroom the newer area. We were able to park in front of the hotel for no charge. My booking papers described a balcony with a street view; nope. There were a host of small issues: the key did not work at first, the wifi is only viable near reception ie not really available throughout the hotel and my room smelled rather bad. The breakfast was modest re a toasted half baguette about 10” long with toppings and a black java; might be an early lunch stop. When you consider the very reasonable rate, the place still is rather decent. On a ten scale, a five would be apt.
