This is the most wonderful hotel and everything about it was perfect. Starting with being met by Roger, wo took us on a tour of the hotel, which was his family home. The rooms are all beautifully decorated and have many personal items in them, antiques, books, collectables. There are two dining rooms, one for the breakfast and one for evening (fine dining). Our room was so beautiful and we did feel we were staying in a friends home, with artwork lots of pieces of beautiful furniture and carpets etc. The bed was large and so comfortable. We had three balconies from our rooms. there was a small entrance room with a table and chairs and wardrobes, extra bedding a fridge and safe. The bedroom had aircon, plus a lovely big fan, a fireplace and tv as well as a desk and chairs. Plenty of power points everywhere too. The wifi worked really well too. Big heavy drapes on all the windows and it is very quiet. The bathroom was huge with a shower and a bath, toilet, bidet and huge hand basin. The balcony outside the bathroom was really lovely and sunny too. There were lots of little extras in the bathroom too. Outside is a large garden space and a pool and it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. But, the town centre is only minutes away and there are lovely walks to do. The food was especially good. The breakfast was so fresh and very generous and different each morning. Fresh orange juice, fresh fruit and then bread, ham, cheese or omelette. Followed by pastries and coffee. It is a beautiful setting too as the windows are huge (and spotlessly clean) and you can look out to the garden. Dinner was perfect and Roger grows a lot of the produce in his garden. The food is all made with love and passion and it was just perfect. We also had really good local wines, suggested by Roger. It is an amazing place, run by people who love what they do and love people and they want to make this an experience for their guests. It is very rare to find people like Roger and Oscar (his right hand man). The place is spotlessly clean as well. Thanks for the very special time at your home. We will definitely return.

This is a very small hotel in Sant Julia de Vilatorta, near Vic. It's an old residency house converted into a charming hotel run with passion by the owner family. The place is very quiet and full of old furniture and paintings. It has a nice library and elegant dining rooms. They have old and new rooms (7 or 8 in total). The modern ones are well-equipped and of good size for the category of the hotel. You can also have lunch there if you ask for. The food is notable. Very nice and balanced breakfast, also. Pleasant garden. Personal attention is of first-class. VERY recommendable.

This hotel, or very special 'guest house', offers a different kind of experience. It is very definitely not a 5 star hotel but a very warm, interestingly furnished and decorated old house. There's much interesting art and furnishings. The host, Roger, is very welcoming and informative and takes great pride in his home. He appears to run the hotel single handed. There's a nice garden and a functional but simple pool in which to cool off. The hotel is on the edge of a very nice village with attractive streets and squares and several bars and restaurants. It's a comfortable walk in to the Centre from the hotel. You won't be disappointed if you opt for an evening meal. The food offered is of a very good standard and represents high quality dining. Wines are available at very reasonable prices. If your preference is for international corporate hotels you should give the Torre Marti a miss but if you enjoy visiting interesting private houses and appreciate good food and wine prepared and served with passion you are bound to like this very special place. The surrounding towns and villages are also worth a visit.
