There are Scandic hotels that just do what is expected and there are Scandic hotels do just a little bit more. And when that little bit more is together with a great location fused with thoughtful building design and guess facilities, then I think they deserve a good review. The relax area is wonderful, just the view is enough to make me want to sit down for a while and look over the Öresund channel and I can still do that while sitting in the sauna. The rooms are small, but feel more spacious because of the large windows and the breakfast has the standard offerings with a few extras like iced coffee. The gym is in the cellar, well appointed with good ventilation. Worth a visit, the best Scandic I have stay in so far.

“Great Mon - Sat but closed Sundays.”

Lovely hotel, great location. But at weekends, none of the facilities in the hotel are open. No bar. No restaurant. No rooftop bar. Lovely hotel, great location. But at weekends, none of the facilities in the hotel are open. No bar. No restaurant. No rooftop bar. The location, right at the entrance to the harbour with superb views across to Denmark is great. The relaxation room on the 12th floor is also a real gem. But the inability to get even a drink on Sundays would make me think twice about staying here at weekends.

Scandic Oceanhamnen is a nice hotel with a very central location in Helsingborg. We had a room facing the harbor, close to where the ferries depart. The room itself was simple but pleasant, fresh, clean, and well-maintained. Despite the proximity to the ferries, we slept very well and experienced no noise from outside. Breakfast was tasty and offered a good selection. However, the items that should have been warm (eggs, bacon, and sausages) were unfortunately rather cold. The biggest drawback of our stay was the reception experience, both on arrival and departure. When we arrived in the late afternoon, the male receptionist appeared very uninterested in any form of interaction. There was no initiative to explain where the parking was located, nor any information about the gym or wellness area. When we asked, we were simply told, “You can check it out yourself.” A brief explanation of where to find these facilities would have been more than sufficient, but that seemed to be too much to expect. At check-out the next morning, there was no greeting, no question about how our stay had been. The room key was taken, and the receptionist walked away, leaving us standing there. Overall, the hotel itself has good potential, but the lack of basic hospitality at the reception gives the impression of a management issue. I hope this will be addressed soon, otherwise the ratings are likely to continue to decline.
