I have stayed on many occasions at this hotel on and off for over forty years, always in the winter for the skiing. Ideally situated opposite the railway station and also close by the Mannlichen lift bottom station. The hotel has its own locked ski room and there is the Alpia hire shop in the same building. For location this hotel cannot be beaten. Food is good and the staff all very pleasant and helpful. Like Arnie said, I'll be back.

This was our fourth time to stay in the Silberhorn Hotel. We usually travel in Summer although we did stay once for the New Year celebrations. I was wondering what I could buy my wife for her Christmas present and as her birthday is in February, the day after Valentines Day, I decided an eight night stay in the Silberhorn would make a lovely present. As we live in Northern Ireland we had to fly to London Heathrow and conect with a flight to Zurich, followed by a train to Zurich main station and a connecting train to Interlaken Ost, another train to Lauterbrunnen and a final train to Wengen. The hotel is only two minutes walk opposite the train station. On arrival, we were greeted by Matteo at reception with a glass of prosecco, and given the key to our room, which was the same room we had stayed in previously. We were booked in for dinner in the evenings, and when the time came, made our way down to the restaurant. We were greeted by Catalin who remembered us from our visit last June, so it was nice to see someone we knew. Made our way to a tablet, where we once again met Fastina the server who also remembered us. Because I require a Gluten Free meal I was met by Giuseppe the chef who we have known for many years when we used to holiday at the Belvedere Hotel where he previously worked. Giuseppe would go through the various ingredients in the dinner telling me what I could have or not. One evening he cooked a separate piece of meat for me without the sauce. The hotel is bright and very well maintained. All rooms that we seen were clean and tidy. Our room with a balcony overlooked the train station which is not noisy at all. We also looked across the Lauterbrunnen Valley to the cable car station at Grütschalp and see the little train travel through the trees to Murren. Of course, we could see the Peak of the Silberhorn, which the hotel is named after. We also made use of the Hot tub outside, which is very relaxing after a days hiking. Unfortunately, one day we found the water to be luke warm and so reported it to Delila at reception. She got onto it right away and had engineers out but unfortunately it took a couple of days to repair. It shows that the staff do act quickly if anything is broken of faulty and reported. On the evening of my wife Lynn's birthday, the restaurant staff came in with a birthday cake complete with candle and sang Happy Birthday with the other guests joining in. On our morning of Departure, Giuseppe came out of the kitchen to wish us safe travels home and to keep in touch on social media. Took our luggage to the lobby to pay Sarah at reception for any incidentals, to be greeted by Delila who was on a day off, but had come in to thank us for staying and wishing us a safe journey home. She is looking forward to seeing us again. She will, because we are booked for a twelve night stay in June! So why do we like the Silberhorn Hotel? It's position in the village, so close to the train station and the Mannlichen cable car. The rooms are bright and clean with excellent views. We book a superior room with Jungfrau view, bath and balcony. The meals are good with adequate portions. The prices are good. Finally, the staff are what make the holiday worthwhile. Always neat in appearance with a smile, and very helpful. Now looking forward to our next trip in June. We stayed 8th - 16th February 2026.

“Location and amenities were super”

We rented four rooms for our family of adult kids during our 5 day stay in Wengen, We loved it! Location was perfect for our hiking and touring excursions. We loved the huge breakfast and we used the outdoor hot tub, saunas, pool table, and adjacent laundry facilities. Beds were comfy. It’s an older hotel and not super luxurious, but it was clean, cozy, and was great for our family.

“Beautiful View, Spa and experience”

What a beautiful place. The checkin staff went over and beyond. The mimosa on arrival, the spa area to use as part of the stay was a beautiful treat. Overlooking Jungfrau wow! Again so helpful with any info of the area
