The resort is very big, completely surrounded by plants and flowers of any kind. The restaurant is good and the restaurant with a la carte menu is exceptional, with a fantastic staff! The staff is all kind and supportive, the manager Ali helped us in everything we needed! Super recommended!!

I left my review on the Palumboreef page, but since many people who have not visited the complex do not know that they will actually get to enjoy the beauty and the united team of the two Palumbo and Samaki complexes, I would like to share my wonderful impressions and recommendations to all future visitors to the two hotels. I have visited at least 7 different hotels in Zanzibar as a group leader and have a rich base of comparison. On my previous visits, I always split our stay in Zanzibar into two - half the nights on the west coast and half on the east coast. When people saw Palumbo and Samaki, they always exclaimed, "Ah, what a wonderful place! Why don't we stay here all the time?!" People like not only the beautiful style of the complex, the pools, bars and restaurants, but also the evening entertainment - concerts and shows. Therefore, for our visit in September 2022, I decided to entrust our entire stay in Zanzibar to Samaki and Palumbo's household. And I am delighted and grateful for their care and professionalism, which simply adds to the beauty of the complex. There is a spirit of partnership and mutual respect between the people of the whole team who manage the hotels and the people of the staff. The first thing that will strike you is the artistic style of the hotel, the open spaces and the amazing gardens. Everything is clean and everything has the spirit of Africa. What will surely win your hearts is the feeling of personal attention and care not only upon your arrival but also throughout your stay. Every request or comment we had was met with attention and people immediately went out of their way to fix the problem. One of the ladies in our group forgot her expensive sunglasses in a van we were traveling in on our day trip. Thanks to the quick response of front office manager Muhammad Ali, after only 20 minutes the glasses were not only found, but a member of staff personally took them to the lady's room in Samaki. She said "I'm delighted!" My recommendation to hotel guests is if they want to explore Zanzibar and experience unforgettable adventures on the island, trust the hotel entertainer Roger and Samaki manager Ali Mohammed. I assure you that they will not only give you the best advice on how to combine your excursions, but the price you will get will be very good. I had the opportunity to compare the prices with those offered by other hotels, so me and the people in my group made sure not only of the good price, but also of the high quality of tourist services in Palumbo and Samaki. I advise you - do not fall for the "tempting offers" that the players on the shore will offer you. This can cost you a lot more! Special thanks to Ali for his caring attitude towards our group. Every evening he came to our table to listen to people's impressions of the previous day, to hear their recommendations and questions, to help us organize our adventures for the next day in the best possible way. What's more - with his help, the kitchen team organized a special surprise for our last evening - a cake with an inscription in Bulgarian, served in their hearty and attractive way with song and dance. We will never forget this place and for sure I would go back there with many new friends. I highly recommend that you don't miss out on enjoying the talent of the team of professional massage therapists at Samaki Spa. These people do wonders with their hands. Thank you for being so wonderful and genuine!

My time at samaki lodge and spa was short but sweet. It was my first time to zanzibar so didn’t know what to expect. But it was brilliant! The staff were lovely and friendly, made us feel very at home and made it clear that they were happy to help any problems we may have encountered. My highlight of the stay would have to be the waiter who works at Kamakocha - Stefan (the on-site restaurant). He was the best waiter I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. To say his smile lit up a room would be an understatement! He really was a treat and accommodated any food or drink requirements we needed. I would return to samaki and would highly recommend to any other people thinking about staying in Uroa.

So, we stayed at ‘The Beach B&B’ which is linked to and within the same amenities as ‘Samaki Lodge’ - from what we can tell the difference is just the location of the bedrooms, Samaki Lodge rooms are within the lush tropical gardens, The Beach B&B rooms are in a block which are beside the pool and if on the upper floors then balcony view over the beach. We had a view of the beach and enjoyed our very comfortable room and the nice pool area. Then, to confuse things a bit more, both these two resorts are also then linked through a walkway to the Palumbo Reef resort next door which is an all inclusive type resort with large pool, entertainment team putting on activities like pool aerobics, yogi, evening shows etc. Staying at any of the 3 accommodations means you can use the facilities at each. Which is very nice if you want a bit more going on but also have a quieter pool area if you don’t want that. For us, we felt it was a shame to have all the bars, restaurant and pool table etc facilities at The Beach B&B/Samaki Lodge all closed and they expect you to get all food and drink from the Palumbro resort next door. Which, when you book somewhere based on small intimate facilities is somewhat unexpected and although nice to have some of the time at the resort next door but not so nice for the whole stay. We wanted a drink beside the pool and so went to reception to ask, they said we needed to go to the resort to order and I kindly requested that they took my order and had it brought to us as the bar was not open which would really be expected. They agreed and said they often had this complaint and had told the owners/management but they hadn’t done anything about it. This is my way to highlighting to management - you should at least have one bar open beside this pool!!! Would definitely recommend any of these places depending on what you want from your stay as to accommodation as the staff in all areas of each resort were very friendly and nice! And everything is super clean and the flowers and planting all around is beautiful.
