Absolutely beautiful resort, bungalows and support staff and amenities! The daily breakfast buffet was likewise wonderful! Staff was so friendly and eager to assist. No real language barrier as long you know basic English and the polite, respectful basic courtesy phrases needed in Thai (or a translation app if communicating with housekeeping staff). We loved our stay and will miss the beautiful sunset dinners. Medee and the nextdoor Seafar resort are owned by the same owner but the owner has invested in Seafar's dinner ambiance with a bar. The only real problem, we had however, is Koh Kood is actually a rather large, hilly island and motorbikes ("scooters") are the main vehicle transport and private taxes are not widely acceptable (keeping a more laidback, restful experience, compared to Phuket). We consider ourselves youthful at 65+ but we actually had no motorcycle experience. We saw many videos about how to get a motorbike but the ones at the resort and majority on the island are 125 cc engine -- which, in Canada (and most likely the US) you need a motorcycle license to drive. Just wish that had been imparted to us in advance. My 70-year-old husband who is not very tall, tried practicing on a nearby road and wiped out on a turn, getting a large gash on his knee and a twisted ankle sprain that sidelined us from the recreational water sports -- kayaking, snorkeling, swimming we were looking forward to. Even a ride on the boat tour and the transporting in and out of dingies was painful because the tendons in his ankle were needed for balance. So beware! We ended up needing to pay for taxis for his daily, painful wound cleaning at the hospital ER, which was affordable by US standards.

The resort has bungalows in two places - nearby the beach and some 800 m from the beach. I was in one of the later ones. Webpage told they are 300 m from the beach, which was not true at all. Moreover, in these bungalows cleaning and changing towels was done once per week - in my case it happened just last day before departure. I had only breakfasts in the hotel, restaurant was not attractive. But there is other resort literally side by side, they have rather nice restaurant and beach bar. There in the beach are only hotel guests, not any by passers, which make it peaceful. In the evenings we took taxi and went to other restaurants for the dinner. That is highly recommended, there are nice restaurants on the island. Motor bike is obviously very handy, but we survived very well by taxis. So - I have experience from bungalows further away from the beach. They might be disappointment for demanding traveller. But if having one close to the beach - very good place on this paradise island!

Rooms very good Host very friendly and helpful Food although limited was very good Breakfast was ample Sun beds are a bit old but comfortable enough could do with a few more when busy Lovey beach,although i thought it was private you get the day trippers sunbathing on it
