“Sunday roast was excellent, one of the best we have had. However, the management allowed a dog to sit on the next table!”

It is not acceptable from a hygiene or any other viewpoint to have a dog sitting on a table while food is being served. We did not mention it at the time so as not to embarrass the staff but certainly this spoiled what was otherwise a great meal.

Great location and the building was full of character and quirkiness. The rooms were comfortable and the location is perfect for the high streets shops, pubs and cafes. Great location and the building was full of character and quirkiness. The rooms were comfortable and the location is perfect for the high streets shops, pubs and cafes. The slight disappointments were no tv in our room and our room had such poor lighting making it impossible to get ready to go out. We found this in our friends rooms too. The cupboard room on the landing, for teas and coffees, was very well laid out but you cant beat your own tea making facilities in your own room. Much easier for that early morning cuppa. Lets end on a high because our breakfast was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

After carefully selecting overnight accommodation in Burford, was very disappointed in our experience. The website showed helpful pictures of the bedrooms, which was great and one of the reasons why we chose the Highway, as we felt we could see exactly what we were getting - which isn't always the case with other websites. I specifically enquired about which room would be quietest, as we didn't want to be disturbed by noise from the bar or beer garden. I was told that Kiss was the quietest room. This didn't turn out to be correct at all, as when we opened the window to let air in, we could clearly hear everything going on in the beer garden. The room was disappointing - gloomy and badly lit. The fixtures - such as they were - were cheap-looking. There was no wardrobe, the only way to hand clothes was on a flimsy rail attached to a bookshelf, which looked as though it was about to come away from the wall. This was also useless for long garments e.g trousers, as the luggage rack (and a large and very unattractive chair) were underneath the shelf. The bedside tables were tiny, flimsy and cheap-looking. the bathroom was OK, but very much on the small side, with the sink right next to the toilet, so when using the sink water splashed all over the toilet. The sink was not practical at all, it was all about design and not practicality i.e. when trying to clean our teeth, the water faucet was right in our faces, and couldn't be moved. There was no TV in the room - we have never stayed anywhere without a TV! Not that we watch loads of TV, but we do like to relax with the TV for an hour before going out for dinner. There was no tea/coffee making kit, instead we had to go down the corridor to a pantry to make a drink. Really not a relaxing experience, and not great when doing that first thing in the morning after getting up - having to go down the corridor in my dressing gown. Plus, the pantry sink had the same stupid sink and tap as our bedroom, which made it nearly impossible to fill the kettle. The kettle was a fancy digital one, which was difficult to use. At breakfast, there was no cereal or fruit to have pre-cooked breakfast, and we weren't offered any toast. The breakfast was quite nice, but there was no emphasis on locally sourced products, which again is unusual and disappointing. On the plus side, the lady who checked us in(Lindsey, I think?) was exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. Parking was an issue - the place we'd been advised to park (village car park) was closed for the period we were there. However, Lindsey was incredibly helpful in letting us have her space over the road when she clocked off shift. In summary, very disappointing experience for £150 - to be honest, we've had much more comfortable and well-equipped stays in Premier Inns. The owners should go back to basics and research what customers actually want and need.

Booked over weekend as a last minute stayed here previously before refurbishment Good points staff are brilliant best bed we have slept in and excellent breakfast We get the concept of this and the adjacent Bull but it’s not for us We knew the top floor room would be small but there was no room to hang clothes apart from 4 pegs no space to swing a cat thankfully we paid £117 via booking.com rather then£130 direct to the highway. I would seriously question the cost as we have stayed in numerous inns hotels in the Cotswolds inc the nearby Bay Tree and Angel for the same price and room wise this room was inferior and so small more for a single person I would suggest The concept includes no TV in the rooms which we have never come across also no tea coffee facilities in the room -there is a pantry which meant walking down flight of stairs and through fire doors -as we woke up at 7 I wasn’t going to go down in pyjamas to get 2 cups of tea! We ate in Toro which was the highest we have spent on a meal £124 whilst the quality was good cost completely OTT 4 prawns was £24. The salted cod fritters got 3 between the 2 of us we have eaten in tapas bars before and paid nowhere near this As we said the staff are brilliant and breakfast so good but we wont be returning as accommodation not value for money sadly
