Booked as part of Paultons breaks and although the staff were excellent, I don’t think I’d book here again. The food (we had dinner and breakfast) was not great. For dinner - a chicken burger was £20, and not nice at all. Breakfast - continental breakfast - no pastries, no decent coffee (only sachets of instant available), bread used for full English / avocado was cheap thin bread - have to say I was left disappointed. One of the eggs & avocado had egg shell in. The rooms were ok for what we needed for an overnight stay.

Location is fantastic if you are going to peppa pig world only a 15minute walk value of the rooms are ok not spectacular atmosphere great cleanliness isnt the best as they don't go under the units beds or inside the shower plug hole food was fantastic and delicious but wasnt worth the price for how much was on the plate 2 adults and 2 children for a main meal was just over £90 food quality cant fault but price on fault is way over priced for what they do apart from that a very nice hotel

I stayed here for one night recently. While the man who checked me in to the accommodation and the younger man who served me breakfast were helpful and kind people, the standard of the accommodation and the evening meal was a tad below par. In summary: - I arrived about 5.15pm and went up to the room to send an email or two before eating. After it was on for about 10 minutes, the main room light started flickering. As it was a dimmer light I tried turning the switch up and down to find somewhere in the range where it didn't flicker, but to no avail. I soldiered on to get my work done so that I could relax and have an meal in the pub. - When ordering the evening meal, I asked for a chicken burger but immediately noticed the gammon steak and asked for that instead. This change of mind was within seconds and before I paid and certainly not a way after the event change of mind. So, when the meal came, it was the chicken burger. It wasn't what I'd ordered, but as I'm not a fussy eater I decided to go with the flow. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry and hard. The crumbed coating or whatever it was could have stopped bullets. I can eat just about anything but I struggled with this. - After forcing down the meal I went upstairs only to find I had no towels. The gent who served me the meal kindly obliged and brought me the towels and a bath mat. - In the morning, the shower in the en-suite seemed to have only 2 settings- cold or too hot. So that wasn't altogether helpful. I let the young man who served breakfast know about the light and the shower. I don't write too many reviews, but from the previous reviews I had expected better. So I thought for the sake of others I ought to add my experience to the mix.

“Incorrect room allocated which was disappointing”

We booked through Country Hotel Breaks . I booked for a suite which was supposed to be a room and seperate lounge, What we were allocated was room 2 a large room with sofa in it and we had paid £70 extra for a suite. I did say to staff on arrivale we had booked a suite and were told this is best room. Before I left a told staff I would leave review saying not a suite and raised with with Country Hotel Breaks. The staff member then said that we had not got the suite but a superior room and that they do in fact have 2 suites. I booked a suite as I have health issues and go to bed earlier than my husband so he could stay up later without disturbing me . Food on evening average, Had nice brie wedges and pate . Steak and ale pie and chocolate brownie. I would say even if paid for superior room rate ot was overpriced. Staff were all very helpful. Staff member I raised issues pleasant and agreed incorrect room but did not really deal with issues and said that they would contact CoutryHotel breaks as Country Hotel Breaks fault as they have advertised incorrectly. I have contacted Country Hotel Breaks and await response. Hope I get refund of difference between room allocated and room given. I would not return.
