One night stay in Southport, lets start by saying the location is 10/10 absoltely perfect, parking on site with lots of room. The lady on reception was brilliant, friendly and so very helpful. We had a Twin Exec room and it was absoltely perfect, clean spacious, tea and coffe facilities - could not fault it, the hotel does what it needs to do as a good all rounder, I would stay here again for sure.

just back from this hotel with my husband, sister, brother in law, brother and sister in law, on arrival the receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming, she moved my brother and sister in laws room more closer to ours, which was in the basement of the hotel, which was nice of her, when myself and husband got to our room, it was a basic double room, bed not as big as other hotels we have been in but was ok, furniture very dated, does need updated, but the damp smell coming from the shower room was disgusting, my sister's room was the same, we did go to reception to see if we could get moved but unfortunately my husband needs a walk in shower and the rooms we were given to look at did not have that, but we were told if we run the shower then smell could go away as the water lies in the pipes, being in the basement, we did this and it helped a bit but we went and bought air fresheners to help. the pillows are very hard and I had to go ask for a softer one, at the reception, the housekeeping never did get one, after 2 days I had to go buy pillows, the bar in the hotel doesn't not open till 4pm and closed at 10.30pm first 2 nights, then 11pm next 3 nights, as we have been to numerous hotels this was unusual especially for gusts staying in the hotel, the guest artist is on nightly from 8pm till 10pm and has a break in between, so not much entertainment, although the guests are mainly shall I say older so not for younger people, unless it's a relaxing get away, I must saying congratulations to the chef! the breakfast was great a good selection and scrambled eggs best ever! the main meals at night were very very good, a meat joint with veg and mashed potatoes, the roast potatoes are the best we have ever tasted, everyone of us loved them, there was other meat in a sauce with boiled rice and vegetarian options as well as choices of desert, all credit to the chef 😁 the staff are lovely, very pleasant, all in all, we enjoyed our stay.
