We visited lochside Spa in Ayrshire on 3rd February with my mum, who is an amputee and has a disability, and I honestly can’t praise the staff enough. Due to a double booking, our accessible room wasn’t available, but Eilidh and Emma handled it so kindly and professionally, upgrading us to an accessible lodge that was absolutely incredible. They made us feel so welcome and truly cared for, turning what could have been stressful into something really special. The food and drinks were beautiful, and Andrew’s service in the Resturant was outstanding — so friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely. At the spa, despite a small timing mix-up, Sharon went above and beyond by rearranging our treatments the next morning. My mum said her Indian head massage was out of this world, and my hot stone back and shoulder massage with Melanie was dreamy — 10/10. An unforgettable experience thanks to an amazing team. Highly recommended. Every member of staff made our time more special.

My wife and I stayed the main hotel on Monday night, a visit that had been gifted to us by our daughter and one we had been very much looking forward to. While there were some positive aspects to our stay, we felt it important to share our overall experience. Upon arrival, we discovered that the spa facilities were closed, with no indication provided as to when they would reopen. Given the size and nature of the venue, this left us with very limited options for activities, aside from visiting the bar. It would have been helpful to receive prior notice of this, particularly as the hotel appears to cater primarily as a wedding venue, with fewer leisure facilities than expected. We had also paid a small supplement on top of the voucher, which we later found came with additional unexpected costs relating to both the room and menu. Greater transparency around these extras would have been appreciated. Our room was clean and functional, though quite basic. Unfortunately, we experienced repeated issues with our key cards, which required multiple trips to reception for replacement. On a few occasions, we had to rely on housekeeping staff to assist us in accessing our room. Later in the evening, we were informed that the spa had partially reopened. We decided to visit after dinner, and while the staff on duty were very welcoming and helpful, the facilities themselves were quite limited. The spa is extremely small, featuring a compact jacuzzi pool where only one jet was operational, while another was clearly out of order with no signage—only covered with electrical tape. The sauna was also very small, and the steam room remained closed due to a malfunction. After around 45 minutes, we had fully experienced all available facilities and returned to our room for the night. In summary, while we found the staff to be consistently friendly and helpful, the overall experience did not meet our expectations. The venue has potential, but currently feels quite limited in terms of facilities and transparency. Guests seeking a more comprehensive or relaxing experience may find themselves disappointed.
