“Fab experience at hotel and spa”

Lovely spa experience with stunning views out to sea, friendly staff and had an amazing massage. The hotel room was large and nicely decorated, comfortable bed, good shower. Great views across to Arran. Fab meal in the restaurant, delicious cocktails and good cooked breakfast.

Had the most blissful, relaxing experience in the new renovated Si Spa with my daughter Ainslie. We had access to sauna, hot room, cold bucket shower (which felt invigorating afterwards) then into the open hot spa pool looking out to sea. Then we had the Rasul experience (essential oils, salt & mud therapy) We then wound down in the Therapy room where we had access to tea, lemon water & some chill sounds. Heavenly the whole experience. We then enjoyed a lovely dinner in the Waterside restaurant and the calming atmosphere of our surroundings. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel completely at ease with staff who were polite, assertive & very attentive. Would definitely recommend for an amazing wind down for busy minds & life.

I cannot recommend this spa highly enough! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was serene and the staff were incredibly welcoming, truly going out of their way to ensure I had a perfect experience. A special thank you to my therapist, Fariba. I had an amazing 2-hour session with her, and she is clearly a master of her craft. She was attentive, professional, and deeply knowledgeable, tailoring the treatment perfectly to my needs. If you're looking for a top-tier wellness experience, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

“March- Harmony package”

I was in for the Harmony package. The treatment itself was absolutely lovely as usual (having had the same treatment at the Gailes spa). However the facilities feel somewhat rushed in their construction. Noticed several things already broken when the spa only opened in the middle of February. The rubber seal on the door of the steam room had broke, the lighting around the right hand mirror above one of the sinks in the ladies changing room was hanging off, noticed writing/ graffiti on one of the steel poles holding up the structure of the outdoor deck, to name a few. You can also see what looks like foil in the walls of the sauna, again suggesting it isn’t fully finished construction. The ladies changing room is far too small, it was so cramped when I attempted to get changed to leave that I ended up having to get changed in the toilet, with a queue of people wanting to get in after me as the space was so small. My parents were with me and my dad told me that the male changing room has the same issue with the space being so small. There was no hot water, the outdoor pool was cold and it was already a windy day in West Kilbride in March so unfortunately didn’t stay outside for long. The showers were also cold in the spa, given this, it would’ve seemed professional to have phoned bookings that day in advance to let us know. There is only one table and 4 chairs outside the fire pit and very limited space to sit indoors. We tried to order drinks, having to catch a member of staff as there is no bar in the spa area itself, but we’re told we couldn’t have them indoors we had to have them outside, which was impossible as there was no where to sit due to the limited seating around the fire pit. When we got our afternoon tea after our treatments, drinks came in take away cups anyway, so the no drinking rule in the spa area seems odd given this, and there is already a water machine in the spa area. The layout of the spa is very odd, and lacks the flow that the Gailes spa has. We were given complimentary drinks when we had our afternoon tea, although was a nice gesture, not sure why we had this, as had experienced a few issues, so not sure what one this was in reference to. I’m not sure if we would return to the Waterside spa as the layout of the spa does not provide a relaxing experience, even if it did have hot water. Although our treatments were amazing, and obviously was no fault of the therapists. However I think the prices of the day spa packages need revisited given the facilities at Waterside.
