“The best hotel in city but don't expect too much”

This is not a city that thrives on tourism. We stayed here to visit Fray Bentos thinking it might be livlier, hmm. Hotel modern but not too much money has been spent on it. Room pleasant, air-conditioning, noisy fridge which we had to turn off at night, good large shower. Breakfast disappointingly basic, nothing hot, fruit salad was juice with some bits of apple floating in it. This needs to be improved. There's a bar/restaurant which serves hot food but it is not very inviting and quite tatty but there are two good parrillas nearby. Pool small, a few sun loungers. Overall, the best the city can do and fine for a short stay.

“Nice hotel ”

There’s not a lot to choose from for hotels in Mercedes. It’s quite similar to small city hotels in SÃ. It’s clean, comfortable, just big enough for a night or two, WiFi works, friendly, close to restaurants. Really that’s all one needs in a business hotel.

The hotel is located on a pretty Plaza and a few blocks from the Rambla. The Plaza is lovely, as is the main feature which is the church. The hotel is located on a pretty Plaza and a few blocks from the Rambla. The Plaza is lovely, as is the main feature which is the church. The Rambla is worth walking to as it is maintained nicely and goes along the river for a mile or so. There is a little restaurant on the shore where you can stop for a drink and bite to eat. We had a suite and the room was quite comfortable. There was a small sitting room, bedroom and bath with the sink located outside the bath. There were two glass doors the exited to the roof patio, but no place to sit. There is secure parking on the hotel grounds which is convenient. The breakfast was served in a large dining area, overlooking the pool. It was nothing special but it was typical of Uruguayan breakfast. Some bread, fruit salad, croissants, galletas, and coffee. The sleep quality, in our case, was terrible. At 230am, there was a huge crowd of people outside the room screaming and yelling for 2 hours. It sounded as though there was a fight going on. It lasted until about 5am before the crowd dispursed. The is a small restaurant connected to the hotel which used to be an Uruguay chain, Don Pepperone. It is now under new management and is called 10 Dias. We stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat and it was acceptable. It may be a 4-Star hotel based on Uruguayan standards but anywhere else, it would be rated 2-Star. If we were going to be in Mercedes, I think we would look at another option.

NOT AT ALL!!..., unless it's been rated so for its swimming pool and its conference room. But ordinary customers who have travelled a bit would really appreciate --for the price!!-- a more comfy and larger room, a safe, a wardrobe with doors, and a night table instead of a shelf. NOT AT ALL!!..., unless it's been rated so for its swimming pool and its conference room. But ordinary customers who have travelled a bit would really appreciate --for the price!!-- a more comfy and larger room, a safe, a wardrobe with doors, and a night table instead of a shelf. Parking places are limited, so only if you are lucky will you be able to park your car inside the hotel. As to breakfast, just what is expected, but no hot meals for foreigners!! At the front desk, Gabriel offers very helpful information, and I'd say this is my best memory I'll keep of this accommodation in Mercedes.

I stayed here for one night. It did the job of needing somewhere to stay but nothing more, The hotel is situated right in the main square. Really great central location and has free parking at the rear. Warm greeting at check in and room was small but modern and well maintained. Basic mini bar, tv. No safe or tea/coffee facilities. Air con. Bed comfy and I slept well with s room facing over the pool rather than the street. Bathroom basic and had a bad smell and the shower head was poor delivering dribbles of water only. Hairdryer. Free wifi throughout Breakfast buffet basic and everything was either stodgy (breads) or sweetened so not to my liking. No cooked foods. Hotel has a restaurant attached which is run separately. Service there was appalling. Firstly told kitchen was shut and to come back at 8. Then when I did come back and to choose four times before I could get a meal I wanted as things out of stock. Didn't even have local beers. Outdoor pool and sun loungers if you want them and a gym, but did not see that.
