LA Crystal Hotel is conveniently located near the Artesia Station on LA Metro Line A, offering easy access to Long Beach, LAX, and downtown Los Angeles. However, direct access from the hotel to the station is blocked, so we had to take a longer pedestrian route. This took about 10–15 minutes, although we later discovered a shortcut that reduced the walk to under 10 minutes. Still, the walk felt somewhat unsafe, especially at night. When we told local friends about our stay, they were surprised—apparently, Compton is considered one of the top 10 most dangerous cities in the U.S. When we first arrived, the hotel lobby was impressive, though it had a slightly musty feel, suggesting faded former grandeur. Our room was spacious, clean, and odor-free. We were provided with amenities and complimentary bottled water, and the room included a fridge. Each floor had a microwave, and we were told there was also an ice machine. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the room. At check-in, we were asked whether we wanted daily housekeeping. We opted out and instead picked up fresh towels and amenities from the front desk as needed, which was very convenient. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was basic and not particularly high-quality, but adequate for a short stay. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi was generally good but occasionally intermittent. I wouldn't rely on it for online meetings or video calls. The hotel is also within walking distance of a nearby shopping center, with stores like Best Buy, Ross, Aldi, and Target just a few minutes away.

Best value you can get in the Los Angeles area. A nice hotel just outside of the city, for a relatively low price. Restaurant-style breakfast is included in the price. “OK Stay”

We spent 4 nights at the LA Crystal Hotel. The hotel itself is very clean indeed and the staff are wonderful, they are so helpful and caring. We spent 4 nights at the LA Crystal Hotel. The hotel itself is very clean indeed and the staff are wonderful, they are so helpful and caring. The lobby itself is a beautiful place but the rest of the hotel is in need of a refurb as is very dated. The AC is also in a cupboard in each room and makes such a noise if used. Breakfast as well sadly was not for me at all but the kids with me loved the waffles. Overall, the hotel and staff are lovely and for what its worth and the location, i would stay again.
