“Great choice !”

Our first time here. Although we stayed only one night, the staff made us feel like long term guests. The property has a large, well lit parking lot. Hotel staff is very friendly and professional. Rooms are modern, quiet and well appointed. Rates were comparable to the other properties nearby.

Not the worst Hilton property we've stayed at, but it could have been better. Checkin was efficient and the staff we interacted with were all pleasant, but when we got to our room we had issues. The TV and Fridge were not working, and the door handle on the interior side of the bathroom door was missing. We did not realize this, and our son was locked in the bathroom. Thankfully we were in the room to let him out! We called the front desk and they immediately sent maintenance and he confirmed that not only was the handle missing, but the door was off track and essentially could lock you in. We were moved to another room. Overall the room was "clean", but there was a musty old locker room smell in both rooms we were in. There was some mold above the shower in the bathroom. Housekeeping came every day and did a nice job. We used to stay at Hilton Garden Inn's, but since they no longer provide a decent breakfast, I chose Hampton as I knew a breakfast would be included. It is a basic breakfast and the make your own waffles are a nice touch. That said, there is really very little fresh fruit (some old apples in saran wrap), and no adult cereals, no oatmeal, etc... It all feels a little sad. Another reason we chose this property was the location, it suited us for the business we had in Jacksonville, but you should be aware that the property is in an inconvenient spot with no direct access from 295 north or south unless you make a u-turn on a very very busy road. We often had to wait multiple light cycles to make a u-turn, so plan to add 4-12 minutes to your travel time when trying to get to the hotel. My stays at Hilton properties over the past couple of years have me questioning my loyalty to Hilton. As a Diamond member we stay quite a bit, but I think I could be paying less at say a Holiday Inn, for about the same quality, who knows, maybe better. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the positives and we would not likely stay here again.

We reserved a king suite for two (wife and I) directly through Hilton (Silver membership). Used the Hilton app to confirm and check in, which gives you the option to select your room. I contacted the hotel through the chat feature to request additional pillows put in our room before our arrival. They confirmed this would be done. The app also said that I needed to check at the front desk on arrival instead of giving us the digital key right away. This, they told me, was so I could put a credit card on file.. Okay, no problem! Thought it would be that easy. Wrong.... Our plane into Jacksonville was very late so we didn't get in until WELL after midnight. On check in, the guy at the counter was mostly wordless and gave us a different room (room TYPE was fortunately the same). I explained I already reserved a room. He had no answers, and really didn't show any interest in helping and not a bit of concern. Great.... Motel 6 experience. Up in the new room, no extra pillows. We had to go back down to get some. Also discovered a king suite had *just* enough towels for ONE person (they have an alternative day housekeeping schedule). We discovered the bathroom wall beside the toilet had boogers smeared on it (see pic). The floor behind the bathroom door also had hair and what I think were fingernail clippings?!? GROSS. Next morning, at the front desk, requested housekeeping that day, specifically calling out the badness in the bathroom, and we needed more towels. Front desk person (who was friendly unlike the zombie the previous night) said it would be done. Later that afternoon, returning to our room. Nothing was done... Again, had to call the front desk for more towels. I took our old towels and cleaned the booger wall and hair/clippings off the floor myself. Was told that they had to toggle from "alternate" to "daily" housekeeping, and it wasn't done that morning. Great... Was ASSURED housekeeping would come the next day. After this, our experience was fine. The bed was typically comfy for Hilton properties. Room was perfect for our needs. Hotel was very quiet too which I appreciated greatly. One point of comment is the shower head, a Waterpik selectable thing, was kind of broken and leaky. Couldn't get a shower spray setting to work so we just used the deluge that was like using a garden hose. I was polled about "how our stay was going" through the Hilton app and I explained our issues. I was (and still am) annoyed that the reaction net result was "talk to the manager". WTF? I think people should examine other options in the area before choosing this place. I almost exclusively stay at Hilton properties on my travels and quite a few are Hampton Inns. Hamptons seems to be the "Motel 6" of the Hilton line, and for what the rooms cost, you can definitely do a lot better. Wasn't too pleased about our experience..and even at the point I might reconsider staying at Hampton Inns entirely from here on out. Also disappointed how Hilton's customer service handled this as a Silver level member. A generic "We're sorry" isn't going to convince me to stick with Hilton in the future. A positive note. At least my wife and local family in the area got a good laugh out of calling it the "Booger Inn & Suites)
