Not sure how to rate this one. We pulled in and there were several "loafers" near the front door. They did not look or act like guests. It made the place look seedy and unsafe. When I tried to check in, there was nobody at the desk. I finally saw someone around the corner but they were chatting on social media or facetime or something like that. I called to her and she came and checked me in. That went fairly well, except she just told me a room number and I did not get a key folder. I should have asked because I remembered the wrong room number. In fact the room number I remembered did not exist. If I could have, at this point I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere. I went back to the desk and nobody was there. I finally found her out front with the guys we saw there earlier. They all appeared to be vaping or something like that. When I asked, she came in and said that she wrote my room number down because she thought I would forget it. She then gave me a number on 3rd floor, but my room was on first floor. I told her that was not me on 3rd floor and she told me a room number that was right beside the number I remembered. She still did not offer a key holder. We got in the room and it was fantastic. Everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and everything about the room was #1. After a fantastic night of sleep, the breakfast was very good. The breakfast area was clean and neat. There was a good selection of hot foods. You could even find sausage in the gravy. The check-out person also did a good job, though I did have to remind her that I needed a printed receipt. We have stayed at Comfort Suites for many years, but this one was a disappointment. We have stayed at Comfort Suites for many years, but this one was a disappointment. It is obvious by the appearance of the seats in the dining area that they do not invest in replacing broken or worn out furnishings. The cushioned seats were shredded and had visible holes and stuffing showing. We couldn't get the keys to work in the first room we were assigned, so the desk clerk assigned us a different room. After several attempts, we finally got into the room, only to discover it was hot and stuffy and the A/C didn't work! We were assigned another room on the third floor, which we found to be clean and comfortable, but the thermostat didn't work well. The people in the room next to us kept us awake at night by yelling, cursing, and throwing things against the wall behind our headboard! The elevator quit working that evening, and we had to climb the stairs to get to our room. Our traveling companion had to switch rooms because the TV and fridge didn't work. We realized in the morning when we were getting our showers that there were no hair dryers in the rooms! I was told by the desk clerk that only some of the rooms have them! We have traveled extensively and never been in a hotel, especially a Choice hotel that did not have a hair dryer. Also, there wasn't a blanket or extra pillow in the closet, and when I asked for a pillow and an extra towel, I was told they didn't have any! Overall, we would give this place a 2.0 rating.
