I was a little upset cuz my wife left her glasses and I was directed to call housekeeping and I never heard back from them two days had gone by this morning the hotel called me said they found my wife's glasses and that they would be willing to ship them to me at a cost which I thought was a very outstanding offer not too many places to go above and beyond these days this hotel did I have to eat crow on my review thank you very much Bay City

“Many ways to feel welcome!”

My husband and I stayed at the Double Tree in Bay City as our base for attending my 50 year class reunion activities. We had a group rate, which was a good value for a more upscale hotel. Our group had a meet and greet event on the lawn overlooking the river, which was a beautiful and spacious green. There were a few Adirondack chairs and some of us brought our own. We purchased beverages from the bar, which were a reasonable price and well crafted. The rooms and hallways were spacious, very clean, updated and nicely appointed. The king bed was very comfortable with very nice linens. The shower was an easy access walk-in with shower soaps in dispensers. There was only one elevator operating while one was under a maintenance schedule, so there were some lengthy wait times, as there were also a couple of weddings being held over the weekend. We used the stairs and were impressed with the cleanliness. The servers in the restaurant were very helpful with dietary considerations and attentive without being intrusive. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and the food was well-prepared. The grounds and parking lot were well maintained, clean and very well lit. It felt safe and secure, especially for a city hotel. The beautiful river walk and park areas were very inviting for walking or exercising. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I know there were many events going on for the entire weekend, but they did not give any indication that they were too busy to take care of us. We were made to feel like insiders as they handed us a goodie bag with extra cookies and snacks. Everyone seemed genuinely cheerful and caring. We were cheerfully greeted in the halls by staff in the mornings as well. I would definitely stay here again!

“Madeline is the worst guest employee”

Dakota and Jessica were wonderful with the others - very professional and personable. Dakota and Jessica were wonderful with the others - very professional and personable. I hate to say but Madeline that greeted us at check in the night before around 4:50AM was the rudest employee ever. She was on her cell phone behind the counter didn’t greet us at walk in give any eye contact during check in with a bad attitude. She was very matter of fact and even said “like I said” during a question we asked in conversation very passive aggressive behavior was unwarranted for guest that drove long distance miles for a family event. Luckily there’s other great employees because if I only dealt with Madeline I would not be back to this HOTEL EVER and was reason I have 4 stars vs 5. Madeline gets zero stars for her lack of customer service
