This hotel was everything I would want - friendly, clean, comfortable, quiet. There’s a restaurant on site that had delicious food. My highlight though was the beautiful space outside where we took drinks in the evening and sat around the fire. There were ample seats for varying preferences - some around a fire, others not. Some chairs, a sofa, some with umbrella tables, others with just a side table. There were several people outside that evening and everyone was laughing and having fun, but we had space so I never felt like they were interrupting our evening. Loved this hotel. I go to the Shippensburg area periodically but usually just head home at the end of the day. I may be tempted to just stay more often and would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here recently on a road trip for an overnight. I needed to book a last minute booking a couple of days out from travel. This hotel was considerably cheaper than any of the other mainline hotels between Chambersburg and Harrisburg. As noted by others this obviously exists to serve the University next door and so it located about 10 mins from I81 on the other side of the town from I81 but worth the short drive if the price is right. It was very nice for a Courtyard hence the five star review. I didn't eat at the Bistro at the hotel. We already had dinner before arriving and I forgot US Courtyards are one of the Marriott hotels where free breakfasts are not included for Marriott elites. So we chose to have breakfast elsewhere on our way out of town in the morning. This isn't a complaint against the hotel but I wish Marriot had a simpler breakfast benefit. Anyway I recommend the hotel if it suits your travel plans.

Our son is a Freshman at Shippensburg University, so when visiting we need places to stay. We've stayed here twice, and both times there was just one or two tiny little things that stopped me from loving it. Let me first say the rooms are very nice, there is plenty of parking, and you can walk to the university. All positives. The first time we stayed there, I just wanted coffee. Nope - there is coffee in the room - but none in the lobby. Found it odd. Also breakfast is not included, you need to buy it in the restaurant. No biggie if that's how things are. The coffee thing, simple as it is, bothered me. Fast forward a few weeks, and we stay there again. Went to the bar. When I checked in, the lady told me bar was open until 10 PM. I went to pay my tab at 9:50, and the bartender asked why I wasn't staying longer, as they are open until 11 PM. So, the front desk doesn't know the bar hours? Also, the next morning went down to buy breakfast, and couldn't, as they just packed up the buffet that was available to all guests that morning. Would have been nice if the front desk would have told me that small detail as well, as I would have gone down earlier to partake in the breakfast. Again, minor stuff, but nothing makes me overjoyed about our stay there. May give it one more try to see if they can avoid strike three.
