Our stay was wonderful. The water fountain in the main lobby was beautiful and staff was very friendly. The lovely pregnant front desk lady was very kind and accommodating! She made our kids feel very welcomed and tickled them! Room was a bit cold but we managed

This hotel is beautiful inside and out along with a lovely waterfall in the atrium. Our rooms were exactly as we requested, comfortable, and of course very clean. All staff members were friendly, helpful and accommodating, especially Dee in the buffet restaurant. I would highly recommend this hote… more

The Holiday Inn & Suites Beaumont-Plaza (this one, not the other Holiday Inn) is probably one of the better hotels in Beaumont.Location wise, the hotel is convenient. It sits right off the interstate and there’s a Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen directly across the street.The hotel itself is fairly large with guest rooms spread across eight floors. Unfortunately, the property shows its age and there isn't much curb appeal. The parking lot needs repaving. The landscaping appears neglected. Inside, the hotel's massive atrium lobby feels strangely empty. Aside from a bar that doesn’t open until 5 p.m. and a decorative waterfall that shuts off at 10 p.m., there isn’t much activity or energy in the space.  My room appeared to have been updated a few years ago and was mostly clean. I say mostly because there was visible mold in the shower-tub area. Furniture also had a few scuffs and scratches. Aside from those issues, the room was clean. Amenities were basic. The bathroom had wall-mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, along with a hair dryer. The room also included a microwave, a Keurig coffeemaker, four plastic cups and two paper cups for coffee. There was no bar of soap, no in-room safe, no laundry bag, and only four hangers in the closet. Most Holiday Inns typically provide six hangers, so the limited closet setup felt like an oversight. Housekeeping service is provided daily, which is a positive and increasingly rare perk. IHG elite recognition was also nonexistent. Specifically, I was also not offered the standard IHG elite choice at check-in. When I asked about it, the front desk handed me breakfast coupons — even though my rate already included breakfast. That wasn’t particularly helpful and didn’t comply with the normal options, which typically include bonus points or drink vouchers. Even a couple of bottled waters  would have been a nice gesture. The small lobby market next to the front desk was mostly empty, offering very limited snacks and beverages. There wasn’t even diet soda available. I also didn’t see a Beaumont newspaper or any local tourism information anywhere in the hotel, which is unusual for a property catering to travelers. The advertised pool is closed. According to the front desk, it has been closed for months. Food and beverage options are mixed. The lobby bar surprisingly serves better-than-average food. Maggie and Leah working the bar did their best to keep up with a busy bar. The hotel should really have a third worker because it can get very busy. Breakfast, however, is another story. The hotel offers a buffet in a separate breakfast room. It’s very disappointing both in quality and selection. Eggs appear to be powdered or liquid scrambled eggs. There are no made-to-order eggs, no pancakes, no waffles, no fresh fruit, and no yogurt. The only service provided is a single waitress who pours coffee; everything else is self-serve. Frankly, you can get a far better breakfast at McDonald’s or Starbucks. All things considered, this is an older Holiday Inn that has seen periodic renovations. The basics are mostly there, but the closed pool, the poor breakfast buffet, service lapses, and the lack of elite recognition hold the property back.
