Now this review is for Best Western Melrose at Seabrook,BW not the Comfort Inn. Many of the reviews for this location are from when the hotel was owned by another management company, who previously owned the property. Look at current reviews from the last few months. The new owner has presently remodeled and prides themselves with good service and a good cleaning staff. In many reviews of the property, the pictures are old from the previous owners and is now with Best Western and has been remodeled extensively. It is no longer a Comfort Inn. It has changed names also. The staff is very nice, accommodating too. The rooms are large and clean. I can't say it enough, very clean and new furniture and flooring etc. Someone said there was no fan in the bathroom, that is incorrect. It has a vent and is always on but you can't hear it. There is no switch for it. The shower was really nice and felt wonderful actually. I had to get extra towels and that was no problem. The AC works well. Breakfast was ok but I am vegan so there is that. They have fruit and a few other food items I could eat. Now for my husband, they have an egg omelet bar on weekends and you get to pick what you want. They had bagels and muffins and I liked the chocolate and hoped it was vegan but not sure. The hallways were clean and the outside also. Loved the bed and it was a king. We stayed for 4 nites. I loved the Mediterranean Cafe and a Mexican Restaurant across the street. That was so convenient. We also went to one of the bars up where the water is. They had good fry's. NASA was close by as was the Boardwalk and so was League City. I would for sure stay again. The owner was one of the nicest management personnel I have ever met and I am not related nor work for him or the company of BW. Just a tourist. I made the reservation with Sam on the phone. He was very helpful and nice also. Oh I didn't see one single bug, not one. Yay--

Stayed two nights while in the area. I guess the hotel is ok but it is not an upgrade. No major complaints. The bed wasn't the best. It was mostly springs with not much mattress. I felt like I was going to bounce out of bed. The room in general was OK. Front desk service didn't seem too excited to work there. No greeting as a Reward member. He wanted to copy my ID. There is no reason to copy ID, I have a credit card on file. We did not get housekeeping while there, no fresh towels, no vacuum, no restock bathroom. Breakfast was average. The special omletre station was not the special treat as it was hyped. Don't ask for extras. The breakfast area wasn't kept stocked. Waffle syrup out one day. Next day they ran out of forks. All in all an average hotel that lacked service.
