A Work in Progress for this recently remodeled hotel...my husband and I stayed there from February 9th-15th. The employees were great and very friendly. We even met the General Manager Jake and shared some of the things that could improve. The place was recently remodeled in January and upon first impressions it seems really nice. The front desk gave us room 321. The room was very spacious and had 2 queen beds. The mattresses and bedding were very nice and made for a good nights rest. During the week there was not many guests there and picked up on Saturday for Valentine's Day. The location is great as well. The reason for not giving it 5 stars has to do with the "shoddy" work done on the remodel. Perhaps they had a deadline to meet and it looks very "rushed" and little attention to detail. The paint was slipped on in the stairway. The workmanship was of poor quality and for only being open a month has not held up well. The sofa chairs in the lobby already have rips and holes in the material. The elevator siding had chipped. The bathroom in our room showed the cut marks for fitting in the sink and the tile work throughout the hotel has permanent "smears" that could have been addressed when they were working on the grout initially. All in all it was a good stay. Evidently we were lucky enough to be in a room where the AC worked great. As we were checking out the lobby was uncomfortably warm and a guest was complaining about the AC not working in their room. Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed so the hotel will be best prepared for a successful season for tourists this spring/summer.

Twice we dined on the Veranda and thought it would be great to stay here during our last heat wave from the city. The food was very good; the staff was very friendly minus one bartender who made me feel invisible and did not wait on me. The pool was very refreshing, although I would feel safer if there was key access and staff monitoring onsite. I reported a man who wore a hat and sunglasses and was staring at me at length. They have everything on tape, so I felt good that they went back and looked at the image of the man to make sure if he was a guest or not. It is a very good location, and you will be happier if you stay on the first floor if you do not want to continually climb the stairs. All in all, it was a very good experience. I wonder why we waited so long to stay, perhaps it was all the bad reviews that people posted from a stay they booked with a third party. We came during the week to avoid the wedding crowd. Book direct. Also, they honor AAA, so you get a small discount. Make sure to visit the Luray Caverns nearby and the Quebec Wildlife trails are just down from the caverns if you like to hike. If you see that the pending charge is $50.00 more than the quoted price, this will fall off if you do not have any room charges. I'm sure many people in the past walked away from paying these so it is good to know.
