Casablanca (Morocco)

Casablanca is the largest city of Morocco, situated in western Morocco on the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the largest and most important cities in Africa. Casablanca is also Moroccos chief port and industrial centre. Casablanca is like any other European city and the most liberal and progressive of Moroccos cities. Agadir (Morocco)

Agadir is a major city in southwest Morocco. It is located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean, near the foot of the Atlas Mountains, just north of the point where the Sous River flows into the ocean. The city centre includes the boulevards Mohammed V and Hassan II, the Valley of Birds, the avenues General Kettani, Mohammed VI, Moulay Abdellah, and Mokhtar Soussi as well as the main avenue of the Royal Armed Forces .The city centre also includes the Place Salam, Place de l'Esperance, the Loubnane Mosque, and the Square with two fountains that leads to the greenbelt of the municipality. With the combination of several communes, the city centre is process to gradually move towards the Haut Founty district where the new administraton have built a new building for the Court of Appeal. Walvis Bay (Namibia)

Walvis Bay meaning "Whale Bay" is a city in Namibia and the name of the bay on which it lies The bay has been a haven for sea vessels because of its natural deepwater harbour, protected by the Pelican Point sand spit, being the only natural harbour of any size along the country's coast. Singapore

Semarang (Java, Indonesia)

Semarang is a city on the north coast of the island of Java, Indonesia. It is the capital and largest city of the province of Central Java. It has an area of 3144.29 sq mi and a population of approximately 2 million people, making it Indonesia´s sixth most populous city and Indonesian fifth largest city after Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Medan. Greater Semarang (aka Kedungsapur) has a population of close to 6 million (see Greater Semarang section). A major port during the Dutch colonial era, and still an important regional center and port today, the city has a dominant Javanese population. Semarang is located on the northern coast of Java. The northern part of the city is built on the coastal plain while the southern parts, known as Candi Lama and Candi Baru, are on higher ground. Two Dutch-built aqueducts run through the city to control the yearly flood, one on the east side and one through the west side, essentially dividing the city into three major areas. As a result of its large ethnically Chinese population, the city boasts several Chinese temples. These include Sam Poo Kong (Gedung Batu), built in honour of the Chinese Great Admiral Zheng He who visited the area in 1405. A 35 ft tall bronze statue about Rp.1 billion with four languages (Indonesian language, English, Chinese and Japanese) of his brief history will be complemented the temple.

Surabaya (Java)

Surabaya is Indonesia´s second-largest city with a population of over 3.1 million (5.6 million in the metropolitan area), and the capital of the province of East Java. It is located on the northern shore of eastern Java at the mouth of the Mas River and along the edge of the Madura Strait.To Indonesians, it is known as "the city of heroes" due to the importance of the Battle of Surabaya in galvanizing Indonesian and international support for Indonesian independence during the Indonesian National Revolution. Attractions in Surabaya include the historical attractions in the ´Old City´ aea. These include the Ampel Mosque and the Kong Co Kong Tik Cun Ong Temple. There are a number of good museums including the ´House of Sampoerna´ which showcases the history of the famed ´Kretek´ cigarettes. The Monumen Kapal Selam (Submarine Monument) is also an interesting attraction. Surabaya Zoo (Kebun Binatang) is a popular family attraction, as is the appealing stretch of sand better known to holidaymakers as Kenjeran Beach. The water slides at Ciputra Waterpark is fun for children and for adults, a stroll along the mouthwatering Food Street (G-Walk) is a must.

Darwin (Australia)

Cooktown, Queensland, Australia

Cooktown is a small town located at the mouth of the Endeavour River, on Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland where James Cook beached his ship, the Endeavour, for repairs in 1770. Both the town and Mount Cook which rises up behind the town were named after James Cook. It is the northernmost town on the east coast of Australia and was founded on 25 October 1873 as a supply port for the goldfields along the Palmer River. It was called 'Cook's Town' until 1 June 1874. Attractions in Cooktown include the Cooktown Museum and the wonderful James Cook Historical Museum. There is also a good display in the window of Jackey Jackey. Another great place to visit is the Mt Cook National Park, and well worth the climb nearby Mt Cook. The walk to the top and back down again takes about 3 hours, although the views are fabulous. Cooktown is also a starting point to explore the surrounding National Parks, with a variety of different tours offered. Around the town you can cruise along the river. Heading further afield, you can visit the Black Mountain National Park, Coloured Sands and Lakefield National Park.

Airlie Beach (Australia)

Airlie Beach is a town in the Whitsunday Region of Queensland, Australia. Airlie Beach is one of many departure points for the Great Barrier Reef. Near latitude 20 degrees south, Airlie Beach, Proserpine and the nearby Whitsunday Islands enjoy a tropical climate and lifestyle. The Whitsunday Islands, named by James Cook in 1770 are a sailors paradise. Each year the residents of Airlie Beach celebrate The Blessing of the Fleet on Whit Sunday or Pentecost Sunday. Airlie Beach is a tourist destination, extremely popular with backpackers. Its beach is small and the sea is inhabited by marine stingers, the box jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) from November to May. In order to provide somewhere for the visitors tourists to swim, the local council, has built a small – medium sized swimming lagoon on the foreshore, similar to the lagoon found in Cairns. The Great Barrier Reef is easily accessible from Airlie Beach, with an array of different types of tours available. A survey conducted by Ray Green in 2000, found Airlie Beach was often described by local residents and tourists as commercial and touristy, relaxed, beautiful and friendly while maintaining a natural environment with tropical vegetation, views of the sea, islands and surrounding hillsides.
