Personally I feel its the best in the area. Just back from a week spent with my Mum on a much needed break. This was our third visit to LVC & yes some things have changed a little but the body of what the hotel is has still very much being kept at the heart. The staff from our check in to our service at breakfast to our house cleaning could not have done anything more to make us feel welcomed. Nothing was too much. We stayed in a Unique room which in my opinion is worth every penny for the extra comforts. Picked up from the airport by private transfer with return. Tea & Coffee making facilities in room, four bottled water daily. Breakfast served inside our out. Which was always freshly prepared & piping hot when it got to our table. We didn't make much use of the private bathing area for Unique guests as we found the sun didn't hit the whole area until mid afternoon. We did part take of the drinks & nibbles available in the Unique lounge do as a welcome respite from the sun mid day. We also were given a voucher for a treatment in the spa but we enjoyed being out too much to go inside. The hotel is spotlessly clean in every corner & there was always sunbeds available around pool. There used to be staff keeping towels off beds until 10am which seems to have being abandoned. It has being said before staff numbers have being greatly reduced in comparison to last we visited. We did not come across anything cause for concern over this other than staff at the unique area at times were quite literally running to keep up. It may be worth considering given some more staff to this area for waiting at breakfast. The only other change we noticed was that you no longer are allowed to bring your coffee/tea out to the plaza after breakfast. I do feel this was a bit of shame on all guests because it gave the area some atmosphere. Now once breakfast was finished it became lonely looking. Such a beautiful area not being used for its best intention. It does host the entertainment at night do. The other new facility is the downloadable app. All hotel information can be found on it & you also have to book any of the restaurants through it. Staff again were more than happy to help assist when we just rocked up for lunch & then were told we had to book through app first. I can imagine people of a certain vintage & not using smart phones could find this a little off putting. We ate in the Alpendre restaurant & found it to have good choice on the menu & very reasonable on pricing. We also used room service a couple of times after our later arrival it was welcomed & the food was delish. Because of this we used it again but felt very let down by same dishes reordered did not have the same quality or finesse of previous service. I understand different chefs but basics should be kept in place. Having said that on our last day we secured a late check out (6pm) for nominal fee which was just fantastic & again ordered food before our trip home & again food was delish! Location is fantastic. Only 8 minute walk to mini supermarket taking front entrance. Promenade gave a lovely walk to restaurants & beautiful views out across the shore. Really lovely tranquil safe part of Gran Canaira. The only thing that I would love to see added to this already fantastic hotel is there own mini supermarket on the grounds just for basics & treats. There sister hotel added it to the facility & I thought it was such a great add on for any hotel. Other than that all was just perfect, & I will personally be back & wont look anywhere else in future. LVC just cant be beat! “Absolutely lovely hotel 5⭐️”

Really lovely stay at this Lopesan hotel. We stayed half board in a double room with garden view. Our view was stunning and although close to the main reception area, wasn’t noisy. Really lovely stay at this Lopesan hotel. We stayed half board in a double room with garden view. Our view was stunning and although close to the main reception area, wasn’t noisy. The room was very large, with a walk in wardrobe with safe that didn’t cost to use. Plenty of space for your clothes to hang. Great bathroom with separate shower and bath, spotlessly clean with products to use, shampoo, conditioner, baby wash, body cream. Nice seating area within the room with TV and mini bear. Obviously it costs to use it but we emptied it out and put our own drinks and snacks from the supermarket inside. This hotel doesn’t have a shop but if you walk 10 minutes along the promenade to the left, you will find lots of restaurants, bars and supermarket. The food was amazing , plenty of choice and cooked fresh. Chefs would often be out replenishing dishes. Lots of choice of fresh salads, cheeses, desserts and more. We didn’t feel the need to eat out at the sister hotels. We enjoyed the quiet area around the pool but the infinity pool was really nice too! We had to buy our own drinks but that really didn’t break the bank. The only tiny down side to this hotel ( and really hard to find one) is there is no tea & coffee in the room and you only get bottled water on the first night in the room. If you are watching the entertainment at night, you will have the longest wait to be served for a drink. They are rushed off their feet and often got our order wrong or missed a drink. We loved this hotel and will be retuning back one day.

“5 Star rating is slipping away”

This is the first time back at this hotel for a few years and the 5* rating is slipping quite drastically. The rooms are still nice and the pool areas are good but there seems to be cut backs in other areas. The towels are now quite flimsy and not what you would expect at 5*. The food quality is ... more

This is the first time back at this hotel for a few years and the 5* rating is slipping quite drastically. The rooms are still nice and the pool areas are good but there seems to be cut backs in other areas. The towels are now quite flimsy and not what you would expect at 5*. The food quality is mixed and choices are not as good as previous - steak every night can get a bit boring. Noisy clients seem to be on the rise and the responses from the hotel are not always prompt. Not what you expect from a 5* at such a price paid.

We had a disappointing stay here. I would not consider this hotel to be 5 star. The good - Service when we checked in was good - Free parking below the hotel. We always found a space - The location is fine, easy to get to the highway and to restaurants in Meloneras - The swimming pools are great - Our room was nice and the housekeeping staff do a great job The not so good - The clientele tends to be very “package holiday” - Despite protestations of the hotel staff, there are not enough sun loungers, and certainly not enough with parasols which are not broken (surely these should be regularly checked and repaired) - Some areas of the hotel could do with some maintenance - The breakfast buffet is not good and is very busy. Lukewarm, tasteless (often greasy) food, poor quality over-ripe fruit, pastries which probably came from a supermarket or similar (a day or two before being served) - The room service food is also not good. Overcooked fish, oily sauce, average desserts which had clearly been plated earlier in the day. - Food at the poolside bar and the poolside restaurant, also not good. - The staff continually redirect you to the app. You have a phone in your room which, frankly, they might as well remove, because every time you call to ask anything they tell you to use the app. This would have been fine, except for the fact that the wifi isn’t good, the app doesn’t always work and it doesn’t include everything you need. You are meant to use the app for restaurant bookings, questions about the other Lopesan hotels nearby, housekeeping requests, spa bookings etc. The spa couldn’t find our booking when we arrived, which they weren’t overly friendly about. I wouldn’t have minded so much, except that the hotel insisted I place the booking via the app (which then redirects to a website). - No iron in the room. I suspect this is something you have to use the app for but I ran out of patience with the wifi/staff on the phone telling me to go away and use the app. - The spa is a major disappointment. It’s old, tired, the staff are constantly trying to upsell treatments which you won’t want because the staff there don’t feel genuinely accommodating and friendly. The drains in the womens’ showers smell of, well, drains. It looks like the spa at the Costa Meloneras is better, but it was booked up during our time there. I seriously wouldn’t waste your time or money at the spa here. Overall, I would say the problem is that the hotel feels like the main goal is crowd control. It feels like there is a lack of management and a lack of service culture. There are a few really good members of staff, but unfortunately not enough to make up for the unprofessional, unhappy ones. It feels like they have not understood that every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to either delight or disappoint, and we certainly had a lot of disappointing interactions. In summary, it’s not awful. If you get a REALLY cheap deal, it’s fine. If not, spend your money and time elsewhere.
