“Modern hotel with a prime location along the Vlorë seafront avenue”

I only stayed one night, but I really liked the hotel. Although it is located next to the seafront avenue in Vlorë, it is still very quiet as it sits at the southern end of it. “Very hot stuffy sea view rooms. Disappointing breakfast and food hygiene.”

Reception: Our check in man was very helpful and got us into a room slightly earlier than official checkin time. He translated a number of times for us. Room / facilities: Room number 402 is on floor 4 and is clean and has a sea view. This makes rhe room extremely hot in the afternoon as the air conditioning was still set to HEAT (by management) and the A/c did nothing to cool the room. We enquired a number of times at reception, to see if the air conditioner could be switched to cool, but the technician was slow to arrive to “flick a switch”. This appears more of a ploy to save money, as the public areas including lift were all very very cool during the day. We stayed 2 nights. The door to the balcony, when opened, stops the air conditioner functioning. Heating and cooling is controlled centrally, and you only control the fan speed. This is not helpful if you need to cool down a sun heated room in the afternoon. The room has a large king bed, safe (which is locked shut), fridge, bench and seat, phone, lots of lights, balcony, walk in shower (no tub) thick and luxurious towels, with a niche in the shower for storage of toiletries and hanging area. There is a machine on higher floors causing banging all day and night that comes for 20 seconds and goes for about 2 minutes then repeats. This can be annoying when trying to get to sleep. Parking: is available for free, but there are limited hotel spots available, both in the basement and out front of the hotel. Wifi: Complementary and very good speed. Generic password required. Breakfast: Available for all guests. we came down for buffet breakfast at 9:30 in the morning. Breakfast finishes at 10:30 in the morning. There was three fried eggs and 4 small omelets that are stone cold and no refills of any food. Anything that should be hot was cold. There is no method to keep foods hot or cold in the buffet. Yoghuts are just sitting on the bench without any ice. The milk is in a thermos container however it still not cold. The 2 x breakfast cereal, one was empty or and the other half empty, nothing was labeled, all the food placed in containers that had sliding opening doors were left wide open, so that all the bugs can get in and crawl over the food. We even saw a fly, crawling all over the room temperature meats, while the container was wide open. We also saw mosquitoes on the wall and roof. On our first morning, breakfast / bar Staff were sitting in the dining area playing on their phones rather than attending to the food. Although breakfast concluded at 10:30am, we observed the breakfast lady clearing things out at 10 AM in the morning. At 9.00 am on our second morning, we discovered that you can order coffee, one per person and request to have additional fried eggs freshly cooked . The other food was just as empty and unrefrigerated / covered as the previous day when we commenced at 9.00am, even though there were only a handful of guests staying at the hotel. Conclusion: Beautiful hotel, but very disappointing management decision to put guests comfort last on the priority list. Extremely poor breakfast experience and food hygiene. This hotel could be a gold mine if managed correctly and hotel guests need placed before saving money. Letdowns: Lack of cold aircon in the rooms when the outside temperatures are rising. A fan could not be provided. Breakfast was a major disappointment. Location / Nearby: Beach, town, restaurants, Recommendations: If you’re happy to be in a very hot sun heated room in the afternoon, a sea view is perfect. Otherwise a non see view may suit you better. If you enjoy fridge cold fried eggs, flys on your food, this hotel is perfect. Getting to hotel: If arriving by car, best use GPS
