This hotel has one Amazing thing going for it, that is its location! If you want to be in what I would call the heart of the better shopping and restaurants in Mar del Plata. This is a good choice for a hotel. The lobby is very warm and inviting and flows into a very relaxed restaurant area were they serve a buffet style breakfast. When I asked if they served sliced meats and cheeses as I had seen in photos on trip advisor. I was told people around here do not eat that. (Is this not a hotel for tourists not locals) well as a tourist I do not like eating only cake and bread for breakfast. I also like protein. I understand customs are different. I travel the world, so I accept different types of protein from hot to cold. To my shock on my last day there I see 2 locals walk in, and are eating what I would call quesadillas. (so locals do eat cheese for breakfast! ). After my little rant I must confess I did enjoy the medialunas(small sweet croissants) on day 2 there was cream cheese to spread on them...bonus! But on our last morning New Year's Day the breakfast was day old breads, dried up brownies, and left over Pantone from the New Year's Eve dinner. Why because no one on there staff thought to preorder medialunas the day before to freeze and re warm when deliveries were not available! If you had not noticed I focused on the breakfast while doing a hotel review( not a mistake) it was the best part of our stay!! The room was small hot and stuffy it had a nice look all white with black accents (including the shoe prints on my white bedspread)...not impressed! The room was tidy, not clean. The wood floor was sandy and gritty. The bathroom was clean but not hotel shine. On day 2 we returned from the beach to discover the floor unswept and no towels for our shower I called down to the front desk to inquire. I was told that they were not ready. They would be sent to our room in an hour. We took our showers dried off with heat of the room. Headed off for drinks and dinner returned to find still no towels. (Again very sad). This time I insisted I would really like towels to wash up before bed the gentleman at the front desk brought them up 20 minutes later. The next day I noticed the same foot prints on my bedspread (good thing I do not sleep with it on me in this heat) my floor was still unswept and the bathroom tub and shower were cleaned, but oops my sink was still with toothpaste on the side of the sink! I did not give this hotel a lower rating, because in fairness this hotel was a 2.5 star and for that rating I give it Average!
