What a lovely resort. The cleanliness is top notch, staff was always cleaning and making sure the grounds were kept neat and tidy and safe. The lobby area is simple and nice, it's air conditioned. An automatic coffee maker, you have to pay $USD2 or $4BD to use the machine if you want coffee. Hot water is dispensed for free and the hotel provides an assortment of teas. Rooms are simple, we had a double bed room 224, the ac took a while to cool the room, but once it did we were fine. The washroom was very spacious, toiletries are provided. Hot water takes a while. The closet is sufficient to keep your luggage, ironing board, hair dryer, clothes rack and hangers are all provided. There was a nice balcony for enjoying the sun and cool breeze. Lots of birds, we also saw a monkey which was cool. Our room was near the drive through for Cheffette so we could hear them all day long till about midnight. The hotel is right across from Rockley beach where you will find plenty of shacks to eat Uncle George (Fly fish sandwich $15BD and Fried Chicken with salad and Fries was $20 BD), Reubens (fish cakes $10BD for 5) etc. We also were able to buy food out of the back of a van from Verna's Kitchen and Melinda's Kitchen. Good portion sizes for about $20BD, curry lamb, chicken, baked chicken or fish, served with rice and peas, salad. Small grocery story at Quayside plaza which is literally a two minute walk if you want to buy water, beer etc. There is a small stand that sells doubles our go to every day ($6 BD for one, they had a variety Channa, Chicken Channa and Potate, Salt Fish and Channa) they open at 7:30 and close at 4, so go early. Oistins is a short bus ride, the bus stop is right across, the local white bus with a red stripe zips through traffic cost is $3.5 BD per person, very quick and efficient the local buses are good too, so clean and they are all airconditioned. We took one to Pebble Beach. Umbrellas and chairs are available for $USD 25/day from the hotel or at the beach. Bring a beach mat. The hotel provides beach towels at no cost. Nice small pool area to hang around and sun bathe. Breakfast is simple, bread, jams, butter, mini croissants, or cakes, danish, muffins it varies from day to day. Juice and water is available. Fruits apples, oranges and bananas (if you are lucky), pineapple, grapes and melons were available every day. There isn't a lot of seating in the breakfast area so either be there for 7:20 or go at 8:30 when the initial crowd leaves. Bring your own peanut butter. Cream cheese and bagels were available the first day, then we had to keep asking for cheese. The staff is nice but moves super slow, they are not in a hurry to do anything. Overall a good hotel, value for the price. Lots of families and older folks, it's not party central. Would def recommend, the location is amazing. Plenty of restaurants along the boardwalk.

We stayed here for a week and we really enjoyed ourselves. In talking with other guests, we discovered that there are many many return guests. That says a lot! The hotel is in a great location, right across from Rockley Beach. TONS of food options all within walking distance. It is $15 Bajan to rent a beach chair across at the beach. Pool is small but quite lovely. We actually liked the small pool area. We made friends with other guests and enjoyed spending time there. Rooms (and hotel) are on the outdated side but it was clean and the AC in the bedroom worked wonderfully! Bed and pillows were very comfortable. While basic, it was nice to have the continental breakfast. We got toast and fruit every morning. If I could suggest two things that would have improved our stay: 1. Update the locks on the room doors (to a key card or even bracelet??). We were given one key to the room. The key was also needed to lock the door to just keep it closed. This means that if one person went out, you couldn’t take the key as the person back in the room needed the key just to keep the door closed. It would be so much simpler if this was updated. 2.Please add a safe to the room. We would have preferred to have our passports and extra cash locked up in our room. Overall, we had a great week and we would return! In fact, we likely will!

“Clean, Friendly hotel in a great location.”

I've stayed at the Blue Horizon multiple times since 2003. It is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and in a great location. The staff are friendly and courteous. I've stayed at the Blue Horizon multiple times since 2003. It is not a fancy hotel but it is clean and in a great location. The staff are friendly and courteous. It provides good value for your money and great access to the beach across the road. All the amenities and food options are in close proximity. We will be returning on future trips.

“Great home base for a visit to the island”

Very central boutique hotel. Has everything you need. Clean and friendly. A great home base for a trip to Barbados. The staff are attentive and helpful. Wish they had coffee makers in the room but the breakfast starts at 730 and there is a Nescafé machine for $2 usd. In the lobby
