After a long and stressful tax season, I was looking forward to taking a vacation. I want to shout out to Mia (the hostess) , Guy (the beach bartendar), Karin (the lounge bartendar), Ron (the grounds staff)! and the front desk associates. The entire staff was amazing!! I must point out, if you looking for a day full of activites on the resort, well, that is not happening. if you want to just sit back and enjoy the majesty of the island, then this is the place to go. There are excursions off site. The resort was SOOOOO relaxing, I didn't want to leave the grounds. I already booked a t10 day trip for next year! Can't wait!

Rooms - very comfortable, well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. Housekeeping was exceptional. Air conditioning works very well and is always on. Lovely shower with good pressure. 9/10 Atmosphere - quite rowdy / noisy at times. If you want a quiet, relaxing resort this is not the resort for you. Loud music at the pool at times. Loud guests. 6/10 Management - completely absent. After 10 days we had no idea who the Resort Manager was. Staff seemingly left to make their own decisions (eg just didn’t open the beach front deck for breakfast one morning due to “rain” which was simply not true). 0/10 Food - ranged from 5/10 to 8/10. Averaged around 6.5-7.5/10. Some à la carte meals were absolutely wonderful eg Lamb Shank, Lamb Curry and Tuna Steak. The buffet is average. Restaurants often do not open on time despite making you book for a specific time. Food truck is average at best and extremely slow and is never open on time. 7.5/10 Beverages - generally designed with economy in mind - not top quality. 4/10 General Service - wholly inconsistent. Some staff eg Germaine were absolutely exceptional. Had two very poor experiences with the gentleman in the water sports / towel area - who was extremely rude. Also had a bad experience with rude front of house staff in Sunset restaurant. It felt like staff were doing you a favour if you asked for anything. Often seated for a meal and not offered a drink so had to get our own from the bar. Seldom offered a second drink in Sunset Restaurant. Could be easily resolved if management were actually present on and around the resort. If top class service is something you seek out, this is definitely not the resort for you. The staff are kind and very pleasant to talk to but often seemingly very poorly trained. 5/10 Beach and Pool Towels - almost every day the resort ran out of dry pool towels which was extremely frustrating meaning you had to keep a wet and smelly towel for extended periods. 0/10 Bar Service - often very slow. Bar staff were generally very friendly and lovely to talk to but service levels were poor and quality of drinks inconsistent. Location - good. No sand beach in front of the resort. Access the ocean off steps that go into the water. Not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet. Sandy Lane Beach (sandy beach) is a 3-5 minute slow walk along the front of the resort accessible down steps if the tide is low. Walking along a narrow wall if the tide is high however. 7/10 Spa - exceptional! Had a couples massage - it was absolutely amazing. The staff were trained to an exceptional standard and created an amazing experience for us. 10/10! Pools - lovely. Clean and well maintained. No poolside assistance with umbrellas etc and almost no drink service and glasses often not cleared for extended periods. Pools 8/10. Pool and beach bar service and sunbed/umbrella assistance 4/10. (This is a Management issue - as insufficient staff are allocated to this). Wi fi - very good coverage over the whole resort. 9/10 Noise - slept well generally. The resort can get noisy around the pools in the day. Some guests had their own speakers and played loud music without being asked to turn it down for other guests who did not wish to listen to their music by (absent) management. 6/10 Late check out - we requested this at the time of booking. Went to reception two days before departure day and formally requested it again and it was written in their book. We were then told we can only be told at 10am on the day of departure. Our room was then not available for a late checkout so we booked the free “checkout room for 1pm. At 1pm it was of course not ready and the housekeeping manager could not be reached. We were happy to pay the fee well in advance to prevent this. Extremely frustrating experience and ended up being late for our shuttle to the airport. Management nowhere to be seen of course. 0/10 Value - overall average value. 6/10 Overall rating 5.5/10

Have requested any ground floor room as all blocks have up to 4 stories and do not have lifts just stairs and our health issues means we need to avoid stairs. Have been here several times over the years and found it excellent with friendly and professional staff. Have requested any ground floor room as all blocks have up to 4 stories and do not have lifts just stairs and our health issues means we need to avoid stairs. We usually ask for a certain block near the facilities. Several months before arrival we made a request direct to the hotel for a ground floor room in a particular block. On arrival we were given a room in a different block and was told that this was for 1 night only and we would be moved to another room the following day - this meant we didn't unpack as we didn't want to repack the following day so we stayed in the clothes we traveled in! Next morning we were given a room but not in the block we requested and the hotel wouldn't change this. We met a disabled lady who had requested a ground floor room but was offered a room on an upper floor. She said she couldn't manage the stairs but the hotel said" it was only for one night". She told then they didn't understand - she could not use stairs and she told them to bring her a mattress and she would sleep that night on the floor in reception. Another elderly lady and her even more elderly mother had booked in advance two rooms, one on the ground floor. They were temporarily put in upper floor rooms for the first night. Following day the mother was moved to a ground floor in one block but her daughter, who had to look after her, was in a different block across the other side of the site. Previously we had always found the food excellent and plenty of choice in the usual evening buffet.and the occasional "a la carte" evening and while the "a la carte"quantity was less it made a change and was well accepted - sometimes one could order a steak or lobster at an additional price. This year most meals were "a la carte" and choice was less and quantity less. Previously smart dress was required at evening dinner which made for an elegant atmosphere - and the staff quite rightly had insisted on this. This year this requirement had been abandoned - most people did dress smartly but many other were let in the restaurant wearing vests, flip flops and some wearing baseball caps and hats! This spoiled the atmosphere. Overall it seems that The Club has moved downmarket by accident or by intention. When a guest requests in advance a certain room type it seems that the staff are not making much effort to accommodate this - obviously not all such requests can be honored but we heard of so many guests who had had problems with this issue which can spoil a holiday. So as can be seen above to improve most things it just needs more thought and effort by staff. Also bring back more buffet evening meals,
