Stayed here for a week at the end of July. Most welcoming reception staff of all the RIU hotels we have stayed at. Lovely, clean room with typical RIU walk in shower. Very comfortable beds. Mini bar stocked especially when requested via the RIU app. Didn’t have a kettle initially but this was sorted. Due to disability requested a room that was easily accessible and on the ground floor; we were located right near the main restaurant and reception/bar. The adaptations for disabled guests are fantastic, including tables in the restaurants and I even got reserved sun beds for the week - never had this before and it really made it easier. The staff are lovely. The food and drink was great. Only tried the steak restaurant but that was lovely. Busier in the theatre area in the evenings for the entertainment as it’s shared with the other RIU and some inappropriate choices by some families e.g letting their children play football! Overall a very relaxing week.

Wow! What a fantastic hotel and a wonderful holiday!! The hotel was clean, staff were super friendly and very helpful, food was fabulous. We spent a week here towards the end of July and we can’t fault it. The room was great - good size, bathroom was nice , especially having two sinks. Mini fridge was stocked either when we requested it (via RIU app or via reception) or just every other day. Two big bottles of water provided in the room every day too. The pool was great, no issues at all getting a sunbed and we went at all different times of the day. The only negative thing I’d say about the pool is to stay away from pool side bar part of the pool after lunch. There were some people who’d been there all morning and hadn’t got out but were constantly drinking. We nicknamed it ‘piss-pool’ 🤢 BUT that is no fault on the hotel - just some individuals being disgusting!! The beach was lovely too, beach bar was good - soft drinks and beer. The food prep areas, cooking stations and the plates/utensils were always clean. We used hand sanitizer before and after every meal but that was down to not trusting other holiday makers, not the staff. We also had ice in our drinks, at fruit, salad, meat and fish and were absolutely fine. No illness at all. A few pointers/tips/things to consider… * Take an insulated cup - we took Yeti ones with us (20oz). Great for keeping drinks cold, holds more than hotel cups and staff happy to fill them. * Avon Skin So Soft. I used it all week, no bites - apart from the last night when I forgot to use it and I got bitten 3 times! * We used hand sanitizer most times before and after using the buffet. Nothing to do with the staff, more other customers! *Do the Sharks and Turtles tours and use Tui! We did both with Tui, who use marine biologists, over the tour guides on the beach. In my opinion, they’re more ethical. Tui don’t feed the sharks whereas I saw two different tour guides feeding and goading them while I was on my tour. They also give a % to the Biodiversity charity in CV. * Go to Santa Maria beach. Much calmer than the sea at the hotel and if you go early enough (we were there 08:30-11:30) you’ll have the beach to yourself pretty much! *If you do go to SM, there are a lot of people trying to sell you things. Just keep walking and politely ignore them. They’ll soon give up. * No need to rush to nab a sunbed by the pool. We went at all different times while we were there and always got two beds together. * Put on plenty of sunscreen! Especially on the beach and even when it’s cloudy. You’ll still get a tan or burn if you don’t put any on! We saw plenty of very red people when we were there! 😅 * Wear natural fabrics if you can - it can get very humid in the evening and wearing pure cotton was a godsend! As was tying hair up! *Take a small/personal fan for the evenings. * On Sundays they offer glasses of bubbles with breakfast! * Prosecco (if it’s your cup of tea), is served at the lobby bar and the bar by the entertainment. * Try the margaritas - delicious! * Just enjoy it! It’s a fantastic place with wonderful people and amazing wildlife!

Quite a nice chilled 2wks not a lot to do or see but a beautiful sandy beach. Hotel yes a little dated but very clean with most staff being very friendly and helpful,drinks on the hole were ok with beer and wines being very good,I did think the hotel let it self down on evening entertainment,like a lot of people have said not a 5 star hotel I would agree probably 4stars but I would say you get what you pay for.
