If you’re looking for a hotel that feels luxurious without the luxury price tag, then Melia Dunas is definitely worth considering. We had a fantastic stay and were impressed by the facilities throughout the resort. The gym is particularly good for a hotel gym, with plenty of equipment compared to what you normally find when travelling. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were told housekeeping would come every other day, but they actually cleaned our room every day, making the beds, tidying up, and keeping everything fresh throughout our stay. The rooms also have a fridge and TV, with a few English channels available. That said you probably won’t spend much time in your room anyway! The pool areas are excellent, with three great pools including a swim-up bar, plus a separate kids’ pool. There is entertainment in the evenings, and the hotel’s beach access is fantastic. Being so close to the beach and the Reggae Bar was a real bonus and added to the holiday atmosphere. The drinks were great too. They may not taste overly strong, but trust me, there’s definitely alcohol in them! A special mention goes to Stephanie, who served us in both the Rendezvous Bar and Manhattan Bar. She was always friendly and provided great service. I’d also like to recognise several members of staff who helped make our holiday special. Miraculous was incredibly accommodating and flexible when helping with restaurant bookings. Kudus, one of the restaurant waiters, was extremely attentive, friendly, and always provided excellent service. The biggest shout-out has to go to Patrick from Guest Relations. He was outstanding throughout our stay. He was always approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about helping guests. Even when issues arose, he followed up to make sure everything had been resolved. He really went above and beyond and gave us confidence that we were being looked after. The food was mixed at times, which is understandable considering the number of guests the resort caters for. However, there was always plenty of choice, and we were always able to find something enjoyable to eat. Overall, we had a wonderful holiday. The resort feels safe, well-managed, and welcoming, and the staff work hard to ensure guests have a great experience. Thank you, Melia Dunas, for such an enjoyable stay. We would happily return.

“Good experience!”

Good experience in the heart of Sal island. Facilitated by the excellent staff that were incredible during our time in Cabo Verde. Nice access to the beach and a huge area to explore! NO STRESS 🙌🏻

I would rate this a 3.5 rather than a 4 but I didn’t get this option. The hotel itself was nice, and located on a beautiful and well kept beach. I would rate this a 3.5 rather than a 4 but I didn’t get this option. The hotel itself was nice, and located on a beautiful and well kept beach. However, the biggest let down about the hotel was the food. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting the food to be michelin star level because no all inclusive restaurants are, however, I don’t expect to go into a restaurant and come out with only a few fries on my plate. I did try a few things over the days but the textures was weird, the food was cold and sat in warm oil, the meat wasn’t great (one night I got some chicken nuggets and they were grey on the inside, and was stale.) There was also flies landing all over the food. Overall, regarding the food, I just felt there was little to no options and the quality of the food was quite poor. Me and my partner stayed in the Double Deluxe Room and we just got what we payed for, however there is options to upgrade. We had no problems with the room except that there was many mosquitoes… no matter what we did we just couldn’t get rid of them! But other than that there was no issues. The bars at the hotel are great, and they have many options for drinks. There was several pools to choose from and the pools are kept well maintained!

“Decent Experience but Improvements Needed”

Overall, the stay was okay, but there is room for improvement. The food variety was limited, housekeeping could be more consistent, and the training room would benefit from air conditioning.
