From the moment we stepped off the boat, to the departure. This resort was stunning! And the staff were exceptional. They were of the utmost attentive, patient, helpful, gracious and welcoming. Diana (our regular attendant at breakfast) was a delight to see every morning when we started our day. Smiles unending and ever so friendly. Mario and Andres (attendants at the adults pool) were ever so helpful. They checked in on us throught the many days we spent at the pool. They knew how to watch for the guests beeds nd iffer refreshments or ask about meals throught the day. They always offered to help adjust the umbrellas and chairs as desired by the guests. Impressively, they remembered the guests. They filled the experience with such touches and always with graciousness. Juliet was a supervisor at CalaBlanca nd stood out, amongst others. Her smile, her attention to details and frequent offers show that she “goes the extra mile” in her attention to guests, with eye for details in service. Her laugh will be missed! And then there was Creseyra (from reception). We met her on arrival and saw her again as we departed. Her energy and warmth were intoxicating! Her excitement for us to be there, and then return were as genuine as any! Watching the week pass, the guests come and go, and enjoying every bit of the resort, restaurant, spa, and excursions…. Señor Polo and I will most certainly be back!!!

This is our favourite place for vacations. We came back the 6th time and spent 4 fantastic nights at the resort. The staff ist exceptional, particularly the caddy drivers, the kids club staff, the restaurant service, the beach servers etc. The food is top notch. The kids club is truly exceptional and activities are amazing. It’s very clean and the pools are amazing. The only thing is that reception desk seems to have no clue who is a recurring guest - it’s so poor to be asked “your first time?” when everyone else recognizes your family. Also it costs nothing to write name and last name properly…small details but something like that never happens in a 4 Season.

We spent 3 nights at Sofitel Barú to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and overall we had a fantastic stay. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful tropical surroundings, a lovely beach, several swimming pools, a wide choice of restaurants, and plenty of activities throughout the day. Because it's a large resort, it's no surprise that breakfast and the restaurants can become quite busy and noisy during peak hours. However, thanks to the multiple pools, the spacious beach, the adults-only pool, and even a supervised kids' club with a dedicated playroom, it's always easy to find a peaceful spot to relax. We stayed in a Barú Serenity Suite with a private jacuzzi, which was spacious, well designed, and very comfortable. The only real disappointment was the bed. The mattress was far too soft and felt clearly worn out. More importantly, it was definitely not a Sofitel MyBed, despite the room being advertised as featuring one. As someone who specifically chose Sofitel partly because of the MyBed experience, this was disappointing. Sofitel should either install genuine MyBed mattresses or update the room description accordingly. This added to the very very slow wifi connection (nearly impossible to even run Youtube or video calls) are honestly the only reasons I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. What truly made our stay memorable was the incredible service. A special thank you to Sara and the entire Guest Services team, who were consistently proactive, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring we had a great experience. They are a real asset to the hotel. I'd also like to recognize Miguel from the bell team for his professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. As a French guest, it was an unexpected and much-appreciated bonus to be welcomed in French! Another lovely surprise was the thoughtful attention we received for our wedding anniversary, both in our room and at the restaurant. These little touches made us feel genuinely valued and turned a special occasion into an unforgettable one. Thank you again to everyone involved. One final tip for future guests: if your budget allows, choose the catamaran transfer from Cartagena rather than the road transfer. It's considerably more expensive, but the journey takes only about an hour, is much more comfortable, and is part of the experience itself. The road journey takes almost two hours in a rather basic vehicle over rough, unpaved roads. Overall, Sofitel Barú is a beautiful resort with excellent facilities, warm hospitality, and a true luxury atmosphere. If the mattresses matched the Sofitel MyBed standard promised in the room description, this would have been an easy 5-star review.

Pizza’s were very good, Location nicely decorated but a bit noisy. Friendly personnel. Armando and Lilibeth were very friendly.
