Great place. The pools are the star, but the restaurant, gardens and staff are not far behind. Hot springs and cool pools. 2 very fun slides. The gardens had butterflies, birds, flowers and turtles. Very interesting. The restaurant was good, and the restaurant staff was very good. One thing to check on: the hotel campus is large, and your room may not be close to the pools or restaurant. Shuttles are readily available at all times, but just know it may not be walkable.

It's a well run, modern and clean resort built in a wonderful natural setting. I didn't realize before arriving that my room would be a half-kilometer straight up the mountain. Walking was a challenge - and carrying bags would not be advised. They do have a fast and efficient shuttle service to get you to your room and back. As for the room - the bed was very comfortable, excellent air conditioning (much appreciated after two days without). The room is very modern with an upscale bathroom that has floor to ceiling ceramic tile and granite sink. There is a waterfall showerhead with a WaterPik like head that can also be used. I rooms were very quiet. For bird enthusiasts there are many species to be seen locally, Blue-gray Tanagers, Red-rumped Tanagers, Social Flycatchers, I saw a chachalaca as I walked up to the Volcano Observation deck. The gardens and the grounds are very well maintained with flowers and shrubs in bloom everywhere I went. I had dinner in the resort restaurant the first night and though the food was good, the price was a bit higher than you could do in town at La Fortuna. To get to La Fortuna you can get a cab, or even better you can use Uber. Cost to get to town was about 1500 Colonnes. It's worth visiting at least once, and maybe more if you're going into town for dinner. Many ethnic restaurants are available. All in all, I highly recommend this resort. A word of caution though, if you attempt to hike up to the observation deck, be aware that it is 1.7Kms from where you are dropped off. In the heat of the day I found it to be a challenge.

“Hot Springs are wonderful”

Out tour guide booked this place during our two day visit to La Fortuna. The Volcano sits right behind the resort and they have 8 hot springs. It was a very relaxing stay. The grounds were kept very well. I would say the room was nice and clean but the decor could use some updating.
