My husband and I just returned from a 7 night stay at Jardin del Eden Boutique Hotel. This is a beautiful hotel, and we had a wonderful vacation. We stayed in a "Romantic Room" which was huge (huge bedroom and huge bathroom and huge balcony), and we loved reading and enjoying the view from the palapa on the balcony, and soaking in the jacuzzi and enjoying some wine on the balcony after dinners. We spent most of our daytime hours at the pool, which was kept clean by the diligent efforts of the pool man, and the staff always made sure we had a drink in hand. At the pool, we never had trouble finding lounge chairs under an umbrella to protect us from the hot sun, and we were entertained by various iguana and hummingbird sightings and the birds that regularly came by to snack on a dragonfly or two. There were also plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas at the lawn by the beach. The path leading from the main hotel property to the street and the beach was beautifully manicured, and music accompanied us as we made the walk down the path. We also finally saw monkeys playing in the trees above the path on our last morning- a tip that the nice bartender gave us when we asked where and when we would have the greatest chance of seeing monkeys. Speaking of the bartender, all the staff were wonderfully kind and they all care deeply about the experience of the guests. They clearly take great pride in their jobs. I'm especially grateful for the kindness and attentiveness of the bartenders in the dining room and at the beach bar, and the staff tending the dining room during the breakfast and dinner hours. The food was all delicious and the presentation was beautiful. We spent many sunsets at various neighboring bars and restaurants along the beach, followed by a walk on the beach and then back to the hotel in time for dinner at 8. I'm glad we were able to experience some other places in Tamarindo- all easily walkable from the hotel. During the week, I participated in two yoga classes, and my husband and I did a session in breath work together and a sound therapy session together. I also enjoyed two massages (one Pura Vida and one aromatherapy). I worried a little that we would hear a lot of noise from the town, since the hotel is described as being "in the town of Tamarindo" but this was not the case. When on the property, I felt enveloped in the calm peace that the hotel advertises, in beautiful surroundings, and it was easy to forget that we were in the middle of a popular tourist town. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet tropical vacation, mixed in with some calm and self-care.
