We stayed here at the end of our trip. To be able to sit in the infinity pool and look out at the sunset in Tamarindo was amazing. Everyone that works at the hotel was great. I was missing a few items in my room called down and they were delivered immediately. There were very minor issues, to me, the water wasn’t very hot and the AC isn’t as cool as it is at home. But to me, that’s not a very big deal considering the amazing view the wonderful people and a town that I cannot wait to go back and visit! The shuttle back-and-forth to the beach club was great. The beach club itself offered food, a pool, chairs on the beach everything you could ask for! This is one of my favorite hotels and I cannot wait to go back.

Our stay at the Wyndham Tamarindo was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The property itself is stunning, with breathtaking views that make every moment feel like a postcard. Waking up to that scenery each day was something we won’t soon forget. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay perfect. A special shoutout to Greddy, the shuttle driver, who went above and beyond. He was not only reliable and professional but also incredibly friendly and helpful—always greeting us with a smile and making getting around effortless and enjoyable. Quite honestly, Greddy deserves a raise for the level of service and care he provides—he made a great stay unforgettable. Between the beautiful setting, relaxing atmosphere, and exceptional service, this was easily one of the best places we’ve stayed. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and stress-free getaway. We had an amazing stay at Wyndham Tamarindo. The hotel is stunning, and the infinity pool was one of our favorite parts — it’s just incredible. Our room was cozy and welcoming, and the complimentary bottle of wine was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast area is beautifully set up with ocean views, though as vegetarians, we wished there were more vegetarian options available. We loved relaxing in the infinity pool both day and night. Every room has a balcony with a beautiful ocean view, which made the stay even better. The shuttle service to downtown and the beach club was super convenient. They even have a beach club. The beach club was a highlight of our trip. We rented a cabana, enjoyed great food and drinks, and even spotted monkeys. Its location right on Tamarindo Beach is perfect. We truly enjoyed every moment.

The view is stunning. Unfortunately, the management and day-to-day operation of the hotel do not seem to match the setting. Check-in went reasonably well, although we were told our room would be ready after the cleaning crew returned from lunch, which delayed things a bit. The room itself was acceptable, but the floors were wet and it was uncomfortably hot upon arrival. The staff opens the drapes to showcase the beautiful view, but with the sun pouring in, the split-unit air conditioner simply cannot keep the room cool. We called downstairs, and an engineer arrived and turned the thermostat down to 16 degrees Celsius, which of course does not make the unit cool any faster. It was already operating at full capacity and consistently dripping onto the tile floor. Once the sun went down, and after we kept the drapes closed during the day, the room temperature became manageable. There were other signs of weak oversight. The glass balcony rails need a better cleaning system, and there were stains in the bathroom that most well-run hotels would have addressed. At the pool, no one monitors the lounge chairs, so by afternoon many of them are effectively taken by abandoned towels. The biggest problem, however, is the restaurant. The birds are relentless. If you get up from your table for even a moment, they are on your food almost immediately. The staff has not been trained to clear outdoor ocean-view tables as soon as diners step away, so the patio becomes a feeding ground for birds. It is unsanitary, disruptive, and entirely avoidable. Something as simple as overhead fishing line could likely help solve the problem. To be fair, the staff was pleasant overall. Not exceptional, but perfectly fine. The location is also convenient enough, sitting above town about half a mile away, and the hourly bus works well. Still, despite the beautiful setting, I am not sure I would return. When you are competing with birds for your meal, it takes much of the pleasure out of the stay. After leaving Tamarindo, we stayed at the Hampton Inn in Liberia, and it was a much better-run hotel. In many ways, that stay highlighted the deficiencies at the Wyndham Tamarindo. I would likely look elsewhere next time, ideally for a property with a nice pool and stronger management.
