Stayed 1 night during a business trip. Hotel was nice and clear, with beautifully kept grounds. Ponds, rivers, pool were just some of the highlights of the hotel. But the hot springs pool was probably the best part. We did a night swim and it was amazing. We also eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and service from the staff was great.

Hotel Rio Perlas is a hidden jewel. The grounds are perfect for an inspiring get away. The plants and bird life are amazing. The attitudes of all the staff are 5 star. They are currently in the process of getting all the amenities updated. The thermal pools are an unexpected surprise. It is a great value. We hope to return next year.

“Beautiful but lacking for the money”

We stayed at the resort one night as we were transiting from Dominical back to San Jose. I don’t think i would stay again. Cons: It was extremely hard to find and there were no signs for the hotel until right before you enter the resort making you think you are extremely lost. The restaurant service was slow and the food was so minimal. they don’t even give you a menu. The dining schedule made me feel like we were at a retirement center and most of the guest were of that age as well. They put our family out on a deck by ourselves even though my kids are teenagers which made me feel like we were not welcome there. I would not bring kids to this place again. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom was pretty gross. The shower needed major repairs and leaked. If you are elderly I’m not sure how you get around as it is extremely hilly even walking up to the restaurant. There might be a service for that but we didn’t see any. Pros: once you are there it is beautiful and quiet. We heard only the birds chirping. The landscaping and meandering stream is really serene and there is a short hike up to a waterfall. They obviously spend a lot of time on the grounds. We did not see any animals but the hike around the property is also nice. The hot spring pool is really the best feature of this place. It’s very warm and lovely to swim around in.

Stayed here for one night on a Coast to Coast adventure holiday. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and well kept, the room was very clean and comfortable and the hot spa pool was amazing. What lets this hotel down really badly is the food. It was awful and the worst meal we had during our holiday in Costa Rica. A great shame.
