Bosque del Cabo is the ideal spot to co-exist with wildlife. After many trips to Costa Rica and many tours/hike to see animals, I finally found a place where I didn’t have to leave the property to be surrounded by wildlife. Without going far from my cabin, I had meaningful interactions with monkeys (spider, howler, Cara blancas), coati mundo, peccaries, and agouti, not to mention an array of birds. The property is impeccably groomed, with trails of all sorts and views to both Golfe Dulce and the Pacific Ocean. I spent a good deal of time just hanging out on the suspension bridge and listening to jungle sounds. I was content to stay on the property, but there are many available tours on land and sea, as well as an outstanding resident naturalist, Carlos. Anything is possible here. The staff at Bosque went all out in helping and caring for us. They became fast friends who learned our names almost immediately. I miss them! They were very accommodating to my special requests with respect to dietary restrictions and medical needs. Mi amigo Angel brought ice and a cooler to my cabin daily to keep my insulin cool. The food was delicious and very healthy. Evening highlights were margaritas at the Boa Bar and fun dinners with other guests. We enjoyed getting to know Heylin, Ali, Felipe, and Mar! I could go on and on. Our cabin was very clean and decorated with local artwork featuring the Fiery-billed Aracari. The ocean views and sounds of waves were hypnotizing. We particularly enjoyed our neighbors, spider monkeys, who entertained us constantly! One fellow even came right to the bedroom window and spied on me. Kim and Phil have built a paradise here. And a community of connection, harmonious co-existence with nature. Thank you!

Bosque del Cabo provides a comfortable, safe and delicious environment in the middle of an active and exciting jungle, set along a beautiful coast with crashing surf. Each casita is equipped with a comfortable bed (ours was king size, don't know if they all are?). There was a sitting area, a desk, and ours had an upstairs loft with two available beds. The bathroom is a combo design... commode and sink inside with an outdoor shower area complete with lovely eco cleansing products. The deck outside our room sat high over the Golfo Dulce and we could hear the crashing waves as we went to sleep. Our room, LAPA, was situated between two large canopy trees in which scarlet macaws, spider monkeys, howler monkeys and a gazillion birds perched and swung and howled. The staff at Bosque was amazing... anticipating our every need. The drivers, the greeters/concierge, the bartenders, the flower designer (flowers were everywhere!), the chefs and servers, the groundskeepers, and housekeepers and laundry staff, the guide all were so attentive without being overbearing. Our room was immaculate but I never saw the housekeepers or their carts. The menus were diverse and each was delicious. Bosque seemed unique to me in it's ability to balance comfort and grace and still honor eco concepts. There is only enough electricity as is essential. They rely heavily on solar and there were days where laundry didn't get dry because of the humidity and rainshowers. Not enough power for hair dryers, but who needs those when every other possible want is met. Bosque seems to me to be a complete property in that one could sit on their deck or at the restaurant patio and see countless animals and birds. Ex. coatis, peccaries, anteaters, agoutis, tiger heron, scarlet macaws, spider monkeys, caracaras, geckos, and so much more. That being said, we did some of the trails and they were amazing. The suspension bridge to the Tropical Garden is fun and sometimes occupied with troops of capuchin monkeys daring one to cross it. The lookout on the way to the bridge provides a heavenly view of the Golfos blue waters. The TiTi trail provided anthills, anteaters, monkeys, birds, a sloth and more. The Zapatera trailhead is a great place to find Blue Morpho butterflies. The hike to the beach we decided against as it looked a little steep for us (but most of the guests we talked to loved it!). Do take advantage of the guided offerings they provide. Carlos is the BEST! We did two of his nightwalks, one birding walk (that included vehicle transportations), and booked him privately for a tour for the two of us where we saw so many species!!! We were one of the few couples there that hadn't been traveling there on a somewhat regular basis. Many from the Northern US states and Canada, as well as representation from several European countries. Bosque is a jewel and the perfect place to get back to nature.

“Unspoiled nature , 5 star service”

This is a wonderful private nature reserve in the rainforest. The birds and animals welcome each day. The staff is warm and friendly. They also arranged a day fishing with masters. Everything at the Bosque is thoughtful and well done. We have been 3 times and will annually return.

Just returned from Costa Rica. We went to three wonderful places but all five of us agreed that Bosque was our favorite. The setting is wonderful. Beautiful rainforest, real diversity of wildlife - birds and mammals. Grounds and structures very well maintained. Accommodations quite comfortable with awesome views. Great food. Plenty to do, but also a great place to lay back, relax and enjoy. The owners and staff made us feel welcome as friends. I see why so many people come back often. My second time here and I expect to come again.
