My husband and I traveled here from the US as we were invited to a local friend's wedding nearby (not on site). We had an amazing stay here and that was mostly due to the incredible staff at this property, across many departments. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was great, and the shower amenities are from a local producer, they smelled amazing! I wish I could have taken some home. The hotel property was gorgeous and spacious, very much like other reviewers have noted, it's close to the airport and commercial areas but you wouldn't know it on site. The airport shuttle is convenient and complimentary. We were pn the 5th floor facing the pool, the birds were active and nosiy in the early mornings and afternoons, but it did not bother us, though others may feel differently. As Gold Elite members, we had access included for the Executive Lounge for breakfast and dinner buffets, plus coffee, lattes, bottled water, juices, soda, snacks, etc. This can also be added on as a daily charge. We enjoyed all of the meals and snacks we had there. It was easy to take day trips from here to La Paz Waterfall Gardens and Poás Volcano National Park (~1 hour drive with traffic), and Braulio Carrillo National Rainforest. I always like to recognize those who went above and beyond for us. It is no exaggeration to say that Marriott International should use this team as an example of exceptional service: Caleb - Guest Experience Supervisor, is an absolute gem! My husband reached out ahead of our arrival with questions on our Gold Elite benefits and Caleb provided great guidance. We ran into him by chance at check-in and received a warm friendly welcome. We saw him through the week and he asked us about our days with genuine interest and kindness. He invited us to an indigenous mask painting class that was being held on site and that was a wonderful addition to our time, a highlight for my artsy husband. Braumer & Mario - Bellmen, these two took excellent care of us as well, from check-in to check-out. It was so great chatting with them and learning about the Pura Vida culture. Exceptional service! Jose & Renato - Bar 10, we spent a few pre- or post-dinner times at Bar 10 and always received friendly and attentive service, particularly from Jose and Renato. Another personable pair to chat with and feel welcome as guests in someone's home. Bryan - Executive lounge, Bryan took great care of us in the lounge. Always a friendly smile on his face and made sure we were taken care of. We got to know him as well and found out he is also a close-up magician. On our last day, he gave us a showing of his card tricks, he is very talented! It was such a great way to end our stay. Fernando- Front Desk Manager, led us on a historical tour of the property and its artifacts. It was great to learn more about the history of the hotel and how much of the Costa Rican culture is brought to life here. The final stop includes fresh brewed local coffee! Daily tours run about an hour +15 mins, take one! Yiorginia - Spa, I indulged in a massage during our stay and Yiorginia was my therapist. She was absolutely great and I left feeling so relaxed and refreshed. The spa also has access to a private hot tub, steam room, and sauna for extra relaxation. I was well pampered there! We would absolutely stay here again and look forward to our next opportunity to visit CR!
