We recently stayed at Resort Apartments Teranea in Hvar with our family of seven, including three young children, and had an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine kindness and hospitality. The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly helpful, and Anna—who runs the kitchen—was an absolute gem. Both went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. The property is clean, modern, and well-maintained. One of the unexpected perks was the free and always-available parking, which is a rare find in Croatia! Breakfast was included each morning and was consistently fresh and delicious—something our whole group looked forward to. Teranea was a perfect base for exploring Hvar, and the service we received made it even better. We’d gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island, especially families.

“Lovely hotel run by lovely people”

This is a modern, stylish hotel, aesthetically pleasing and immaculately appointed, ten minutes' walk, downhill, to the edge of Hvar's town centre. Its two pools are perfect for those days when the wind and waves are too high to be in or on the sea. It is also a five minute walk, downhill, to Pokonji Beach, the only beach in or near Hvar Town that is recognisable as a beach: the Croation concept of 'beach' is any cove, outcrop of rocks, or manmade platform from which one can enter safely into the sea. Pokonji is the real thing and the only stretch of sea where one can do serious open water swimming. The staff at the hotel are, without exception, warm, welcoming, helpful and generous. Awarding four rather than five stars to this hotel was a fine judgement, but it must be said that despite everything The Teranea has going for it, there is the issue of walking back to the hotel, uphill, from the town. My wife and daughter struggled with this on a daily basis, especially in the severe heat we had for the first week of our holiday; the 10 minutes downhill often converted to 30 minutes uphill. The taxis in Hvar charge a ludicrous €20 for any journey within the town, and although the hotel offers its own taxi service at €15, there is only one driver, the lovely Anna, who has other responsibilities and is not available instantly. For the strong and fit, who want both town and sea, this hotel has everything.
