Rarely do we book a modern hotel that looks like a Corporate venue. However, the Lone is a wonderful exception. The sleek, cool design is backed up by incredible service where each member of staff treats you as a friend. After 1 day, the hotel felt like home and despite a full day's rain, the spa and indoor pool was a welcome bonus. Our room was huge, beautifully furnished with a large balcony. Set a good 20 minute walk from Rovinj amongst a lovely, peaceful park, the location was perfect. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we've ever had with so many options and quality to match. We absolutely loved Istria and Rovinj is a great base to explore the region. Would love to return one day and will not hesitate a return to The Lone.

First the good bits, Dragana on customer relations is an absolute gem, our room did not have working air con, Dragana very politely and efficiently explained the hotel was full but did manage to re-locate us on the 2nd night. The staff without exception were all very polite and helpful, cycle hire at the hotel is also very good and again staff super helpful. The hotel has a modern feel, the rooms are nice and very spacious, hotel location is good, a very nice walk 1.5km into Rovinj centre along a clean & paved boardwalk, turn left out of the hotel takes you along gravel tracks along the coast which is very nice, pool and beach have free towels and sunbeds for hotel guests. Now the not so good bits, the bathroom is huge but due to the design of the shower the bathroom floor gets wet and is very slippery. There’s a good choice at breakfast although some items lukewarm, (I have stayed at hotels with much better breakfasts but maybe this food wasn’t to my taste), breakfast gets very busy but we found going at 8-8.15 was okay. The pool is nice but shared with Hotel Eden and although there are lots of sunbeds they do get taken quite quickly, similarly the beach is very nice, lots of sunbeds but again these are quickly taken. The inside pool is very nice, my only concern was we found around the pool extremely slippery when wet, as is the corridor outside. All in all the hotel is great and we would stay here again.

Just checked out after staying a week at the Lone Hotel, the location and grounds were beautiful & the service provided was excellent and very attentive. However, our stay was somewhat marred as on my first night at the Hotel I was charged 55 euro's for 2 drinks, a small red wine and a small prosec… more

Just checked out after staying a week at the Lone Hotel, the location and grounds were beautiful & the service provided was excellent and very attentive. However, our stay was somewhat marred as on my first night at the Hotel I was charged 55 euro's for 2 drinks, a small red wine and a small prosecco....we had just one more alcoholic drink in the hotel for the remainder of the week,which I made sure I checked the bill before signing (paid 18 euro for this round of drinks) Although I take full responsibility in signing for my drinks bill, it left a bitter taste. I did bring the issue up when checking out but was informed that's what they charge. Hey ho, you live and learn.
