We had fantastic time over three nights at the Grand Park. It has to be one of the best located hotels anywhere with a 180 deg view of the bay, harbour and town all from the pool terraces and most rooms. We were upgraded to a duplex suite which helps of course - the room was massive - as large as a good apartment and with a private courtyard with plunge pool. The pool areas are the heart of this hotel with three outdoor pools and an indoor one in the spa area (which connects to one of the outdoor ones). Plenty of loungers and great pool service - we never had trouble finding a pair of loungers at any time of day. You can spend hours just sitting their admiring the view! We only had breakfast and pool service - breakfast excellent and table service for all hot items sitting on the lovely terrace/deck overlooking the view. The rest of the hotel is also 5 star and in excellent condition (its pretty new). Service was great throughout and summing up we thoroughly recommend this hotel!

We had 10-days at the Grand Park for our family summer holiday in Rovinj. We were there on a Bed and Breakfast basis. My wife and I had a room and our two kids (22&16) shared a separate twin room. The check in process was very slick. The entrance to the hotel is very impressive with a modern, spacious lobby with a view over the harbour to the nearby and beautiful, Rovinj Old town. The hotel made an effort to place the two rooms close to each other which we appreciated and certainly helped. The beds are enormous and incredibly comfortable although the pillows were so soft that they were practically useless. We requested firmer pillows the following morning and were provided with more supportive pillows without question. One nice touch was that the reception knew our room numbers without having to ask. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. The large bathroom has probably the best shower I've ever used. A huge rainfall shower head from a high ceiling. Every element feels to be of a very high quality. Our room also had a balcony with a great view of Rovinj. As I wake earlier than my wife, I'd often sit on the balcony for an hour watching the town wake up and the yachts leaving the marina. A final nice touch related to the room was that we were provided with a Polaroid instant camera and a note book to attach our photos. Breakfast was incredibly impressive. There is a special order menu to choose from and an extensive buffet that is constantly replenished. Breakfast is served until midday and there are plenty of seats so you can arrive whenever it suits and you never feel crowded or rushed or have to stand in a queue. The service at breakfast is also incredibly attentive and responsive. You can also sit inside or outside. Outside comes with a risk of wasps which were annoying but the views were excellent. Only breakfast complaint was the coffee. I would have liked a nicer coffee option rather than the machine-made ones provided. We often found we would skip lunch due to the great breakfast we'd had earlier. There are a number of large pools available. One huge pool is half indoor and half outdoor. This one is warmer. The main infinity pool is slightly cooler but is a great spot for looking over the town. Sunbeds are plentiful. We never struggled to find a group of beds together although those at the far end of the sun deck struggle for Wi-Fi connection. With a 16-year old daughter this was like struggling for oxygen. There are also a good range of beds from bean bags or cabana style or the more traditional style individual, adjustable sun beds. They're all high quality wooden frames with comfortable cushions further adding to the impression that this is a quality establishment. There is a decent gym at the hotel but timing is everything. Go in an afternoon and you'd be met with Russian mums walking on the running machine on the phone while her kids use the gym equipment like a playground. Best go in the morning. It's open 24 hours. In Rovinj you will see the Maistra brand in lots of places. This has some real advantages. For example, opposite the Grand Park there is an island with a hotel on. On this island there are beds available for guests of the Grand Park. Towels are provided and there are plenty of very comfortable beds. The food and drinks menu is extensive and noticeably cheaper than in the Grand Park. This is a great spot for Snorkelling in the sea. The sea is crystal clear and very warm with no shortage of fish to watch. There is also a transfer from the Marina to the island and back provided for guests at no charge. This takes place on the hour, allowing you to plan your time accordingly. Finally...the apples. The hotel provides apples everywhere. They are enormous, flawless and taste delicious and are practically unlimited. I've never considered an apple a meal before but these came close. We all increased our apple consumption significantly on this trip and we're all the better for it. Fantastic hotel, fantastic location, fantastic service with truly excellent staff. I'd happily return.

Location is fantastic with a view on the old town of Rovigno from every area of the hotel. Location is fantastic with a view on the old town of Rovigno from every area of the hotel. The hotel design is incredible, 4 restaurants, at least 3 pools one of 49 meters, and another overlooking the landscaped surroundings and facing sundown! Rooms are spacious and modern, I believe all with a balcony facing sundown! And being part of the Maistra group you can move to other facilities in town (Maistra pretty much owns the town).BUT a lot need to be done: in the bathroom there was no dental kit, no shaving kit and the first day no shower cups and a scale was missing (but I am fixated with scales). The toilet (separated from the bathroom) doesn’t have a bidet or a personal shower, and is lacking a ventilator. The outdoor plunge pool (room 141) had its side cornice filthy dirty (birds excrements) and after I told them it took two reminders and three days to clean it (as per balcony ashtray). Upon arrival we asked the concierge to reserve us a table at the stake house…. And once there our reservation was missing and we had a bad experience. Breakfast is a bit poor in selection (I have seen much better ones) and interestingly it’s missing a toaster so you have to ask the waiter to have the kitchen prepare it for you. Beaches available are 3 (all semi public) and not close to the hotel. Lastly it’s interesting that there is a Polaroid camera in the room without the Polaroid paper…. And only if you read carefully one book it explains that you have to ask the concierge, it would be easier to leave a sign by the camera. Recharging the car is billed to you, but supposedly there are two different tariffs (do it yourself, or the valet), but no explaination anywhere. All together is a nice hotel, but certainly not among the top 50 for the overall service.
