“Great apartment”

Position is great, really close to the center. Everything you need is close. Staff is very friendly and communicative, cleanliness excellent . Enjoyed to stay there,altough we have been only two nights,but definitely recommended.

Villa Irena is in s good location, only 7minutes by bus to the City centre. The bus stop is across the road from the accommodation. The accomodation is very good, clean, well furnished, and mostly? well provided. We paid the extra for a self catering option, but this was disappointing. The hob was the very old fashioned type, with two round solid metal plates. The two switches had no identification points to indicate the on/off positions or the temperature. We attempted to use it on day one, but it was to dangerous, and the only way and could turn it off, was to pull the electric plug out.We reported this to reception, but nothing was done.There was only this unusable hob, no underneath oven, or no microwave. If you wanted a cup of tea, you had to boil the water in a saucepan. If you like toast forget it, there's no toaster. There is a table and chairs, but if you cannot prepare any food, there's little use for a dining table. The bedroom was very good (double bed and one single, plenty of wardrobe space. Not much point turning the TV on, as there are no English speaking programs.I know I will get some comments saying you don't go on holiday to watch TV. Agreed, but if your not big drinkers, or frequent night clubs (and if like us - Senior Citizens) it can be a long night. The bathroom was very nice and modern (but none of the promised toiletries.) There is a very spacious balcony, with outside comfortable chairs and a table. The accomodation is accessed by marble type stairs, no lift!, another problem for managing suitcase's up to your rooms. Within a couple of hundred metres, you will find some good restaurants at reasonable prices. Almost opposite the accommodation, it is only a short walk to the shingle beach. Follow the path for about 3-400 metres, and there is a good care/restaurant, where you can sit and enjoy the views as cross the bay. The staff at reception are excellent, pleasant, helpful, and full of valuable information regarding places to visit etc.

The location was near to the beach and bars, staff pleasant, reasonable price, if you do stay and arrive after 9.00 pm please check the travel agent door carefully, there is a telephone number but it is difficult to see due to no lighting. We spent our first night in an apartment down the road along with another couple as we could not get into our accommodation, no bedding changed during the week and towels changed once. Didn't have kettle, hairdryer or can opener. Could be much improved with better communication.
