Hello, my friends: I found the vibe friendly and the people very hospitable especially the bar staff, waiters and especially Lamorena, my maid during my stay in Room 344. She was very friendly and professional and very efficient and timely with her service. The view was great as I took in the sea and surf and the pool in a panoramic perspective from my balcony. They could improve the availability of the culinary selection and presentation as it was a hit-or-miss affair that had many guests grumbling for better quality. I am rather stoic on this front and accept the conditions in which my host country Cuba is in. Gord Ramsay would have a field day in the kitchen and turn it into a lesson on doing better with the available food. I would highly recommend a stay there alone, with friends and family as you will make many new friends. Thanks for your time. Jack

“GREAT TIME!”

1st time I've been to Cuba. My spouse and I went for 15 days and stayed at the Hotel villa Cuba. We had a great time! The staff was great and helpful, lots of fun! Games at the pool in the afternoon and shows in the evening. They even had a Canadian night special dining experience that we were invited too with lobster! Yummm!! Food was good, definitely different than Canadian but remember where you are going and try to experience their life there. They do not have a lot, and the tourists basically get everything first. If you like condiments, bring them with you in your suit case as they are not always available. Peanut butter, jam, cheez whiz, etc....I did find the public washrooms nasty most of the time even though the staff was in there cleaning all the time. People could not seem to poop in the toilet straight...that's bad, ignorant travelers! Immodium or pepto bismal or ginger gravol is a must, everyone gets the runs there! Bring soaps, little bars or squirt as soap seems to be limited in the public bathrooms. Make sure you bring your travel cup for your drinks and cocktails as the plastic cups are small and you will be hitting the bar a lot. Pool and deck was clean. The beach was beautiful! sand like flour, clean sand and beautiful clean water. We stayed in one of the smaller walk up buildings. loved the location to the pool and the beach. Beds were a little old and need replacing but realistically you aren't in your room much. They also have villas there, those looked like they would be fun to stay in. We met lots of wonderful people there and are keeping in contact with. We will be going back again in November. Thinking 3 weeks this time! Cheers!
