There are different levels of 5 star when it comes to hotels/resorts, some exceed their rating and some remain on the lower scale. Azia Resort & Spa is a place designed for families but can also cater for couples. They have all inclusive options or half board, all of which are 'value for money', however it is important to know that in certain restaurants within the complex it is €18 per adult and €9 per child. This would not be applicable in the main restaurant where there is lovely buffet style (breakfast, lunch and dinner). There are two specialist restaurants but only one runs alongside the main every night. It serves cuisines like Italian, Japanese etc. I highly recommend the Japanese restaurant and you are strongly advised to book a reservation in advance. The swimming pools indoor and outdoor are very good, the only thing lacking is a waterslide for the children. I think this would be a great asset for the resort if they invested in having waterslides more for outside as it would not be possible for one indoors. The gym is adequate, but more could be done to bring it inline with current equipment. If you have fitness knowledge, this is not an issue as you can create a 'functional' workout to maintain muscle while you are in the resort for 7 - 10 days. The bedroom (where we stayed was amazing, there was two single beds when you enter and the main bedroom on the far side. Separating both rooms is a hallway and bathroom. Initially I was a little worried that the kids beds were at the front, however there is a lever on the top right hand side of the door which means the door is secure. We had the 'Seaview room' and as we were on the ground floor, had access to the garden and from the picture attached, you can see the most enchanting sunset. I could go on, but hopefully I have given a fair description that will assist those planning on making a trip. As a rating, Azia Resort & Spa get a 10 out of 10. Hotel Azia surpassed all expectations. The hotel is conveniently located with beautiful grounds, stunning swimming pools and the rooms were spacious with large balconies. It has to be said that the staff take this resort to the next level. They are polite, attentive and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. A key example of this was that we went with our 2 year old and the skylight in his smaller separate sleeping space meant that he was up very early on the first morning. Instantly the staff coordinated to block the skylight with a blackout and even offer us a different room if that didn't work that blackout was of course sufficient. In general the staff are super solutions orientated with any issue you have and extremely accommodating with children. They operate with a common sense policy when it comes to day to day life at the hotel - example - we wanted to eat at a different location to the buffet but the food wasn't entirely child friendly, they let you take anything from the buffet to the other restaurants without any fuss. Having stayed at hotels in the past with significantly more expensive nightly rates, the value you get from Azia is second to none. We will definitely be returning and would not hesitate to recommend to others. Thank you team Azia!

Myself and my partner initially spent two nights here before heading up into the Troodos Mountains. We then stayed a further two nights on our return to Paphos area. We had booked to stay at another resort for three but checked out after one and returned to Azia as it just did not compare. The main entrance lobby is stunning with all the greenery and vines. All the staff were supper friendly and professional and very presentable. We first stayed in the main hotel building which overlooked the pool with sea view. We received complementary sparkling wine, red wine, truffles and fresh fruit. The decor in the room is stunning. Everywhere in this hotel is immaculate. There are lots of little spaces and even a beach (which we didn’t go to). The second time we arrived we were given a room in a block this had uninterrupted sea views and a skylight in the bathroom which was also very nice. Plenty choice for food at breakfast. We only stayed b&b so can’t comment on evening food. We had a few cocktails from the pool bar and these were also very nice made with fresh ingredients.

We stayed at the Azia hotel with our two young children (4 and nearly 3) and my in-laws. The staff at the hotel were truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were treated wonderfully, especially in the buffet restaurant! One wonderful woman (I believe she was called Nino, apologies if this is incorrect) in the buffet restaurant was amazing with the children, they were greeted so warmly everyday and she really looked after their every need. The hotel itself was lovely, a nice pool, very cold but clean and nice sun beds. The view from our room was spectacular, we stayed in a sea view family suite and opening the curtains every morning was a delight. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the extra room for the children made a massive difference. My in-laws were kindly upgraded to a sea view room and they were directly above us. I’m not sure you can really advertise the beach as that though. It was more some sand in the edge of a cliff. Definitely not child friendly! The reason I didn’t give it full marks was mainly due to the kids club. We were extremely disappointed and worried by it. We were shown to a room that felt very out of the way and were greeted by a not very friendly lady who just signed the children in and practically shooed us out the door with a pager. It was a large room with toys everywhere, essentially a crèche not a kids club. While there was a plan for the day on the door I have no idea how they would achieve any of it with just one woman and that many children of all ages. I was paged 15 minutes later as my daughter was so upset and wanted to leave. The lady looking after them didn’t appear to have any time for my daughter and just said she was ‘crying for mummy’ in a very derogatory way. I took both of my children out there and then. Not only was she on her own with about 20 children she was also walking around with a baby in her arms. I don’t feel it was friendly or at all safe! To have that many children with one person is inappropriate and dangerous. We were not the only ones that felt this. My daughter forgot her cardigan and went back with her Nana to collect it. The lady appeared to be quite stressed with one child crying for the toilet trying to get out while they were coming back in. She’d forgotten they had even been there and it had only been about 30 minutes. I don’t know if this was a temporary measure as some people raved about the ‘kids club’ in reviews but having sent our children to a kids club at another European hotel a month before we were throughly disappointed.
