From the moment we walked through the doors of Dome Beach Hotel in Ayia Napa, we felt so welcomed. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a private pool with our teenage children, and it was absolutely perfect for our family. The private pool was a real highlight. Our teenagers like to sleep in and rarely make it up for breakfast on holiday, so having our own pool meant we could relax and enjoy the morning without having to worry about rushing anywhere! It was also fantastic later in the day when we were all getting ready — we could take turns getting out of the pool and heading inside. It sounds like a small thing, but it made such a big difference to the way we could enjoy our holiday. Our room overlooked the large children’s pool, which was just a few steps away. There are two Junior Suites next to each other with private pools, alongside further Junior Suites with private terraces, so it felt like a lovely little area within the hotel. The hotel also has a large main pool and a smaller children’s pool side by side. To be honest, we only used the main pool a couple of times because we were having far too much fun in our own! However, the main pool was great, with music and even foam parties for the little ones, so there was plenty going on if you wanted a livelier pool atmosphere with activities. The staff ❤️ For us, the staff are what really make this hotel special. Every single person we came across was friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed to have time for you. Nothing was too much trouble — from the restaurant and bar staff to reception and the cleaners, everyone had a smile and made us feel so welcome. We’ve stayed at other hotels in Cyprus, and without a doubt, Dome Beach has had the friendliest staff we’ve experienced. They really do go the extra mile and make you feel looked after throughout your stay. Food & drinks 🍔🍦 We stayed all inclusive and were really impressed with the choice of food. There were plenty of options, including lots of the simple ‘kids favourites’ that can be important when travelling with fussy children — nuggets, fish bites, fries, spaghetti and bolognese with the sauce served separately. Our teenagers particularly loved the snack bar, which continues after lunch and where you are served at your table. They ended up eating there most days, enjoying burgers, fries, chicken wraps and plenty of other options. One of the great things about the hotel is that there always seems to be food available somewhere! There was even coffee and cake later in the afternoon. My husband certainly made the most of this and was a regular visitor for his daily frappe! 😂. This was great for him as he’s lactose intolerant and they had a variety of milk alternatives 😁. Padel courts 🎾 The hotel also has padel courts (bookable at an extra cost), which turned out to be one of the unexpected highlights of our stay. We had never played padel before, but decided to give it a go as a family — and we honestly had the best time. We didn’t know any of the rules and were absolutely terrible at it 😂, but that almost made it even more fun. We were laughing the entire time and just enjoying doing something completely new together. It was such a great experience and something we’ll definitely try again in the future. The location & beaches 🏖️ The hotel is surrounded by two beautiful beaches. The beach opposite the main pool was quieter during our stay, while the stunning Makronissos Beach, closer to the children’s pool, was busier. The water at Makronissos was absolutely crystal clear — exactly what you hope for from a holiday in Cyprus. There is also a sunset viewpoint at the end of the headland (which I kept calling the “fish tail” 😂). We took a walk around there and discovered some tombs, followed by natural pools and a little secluded beach on the Makronissos side. It was lovely to explore beyond the hotel and see some of the surrounding area. The hotel also has views towards Ayia Napa Marina, which is within walking distance. It’s a lovely place to wander around, have a drink or an ice cream and watch the world go by. Would we return? Absolutely! ❤️ Dome Beach gave us everything we wanted from our holiday — a beautiful setting, lovely beaches, plenty of food, great facilities and, most importantly, genuinely wonderful staff. For us, the Junior Suite with private pool was definitely worth it, particularly with teenagers. It gave us our own little space to relax and meant we could enjoy the pool whenever we wanted without having to leave the room. We’ve stayed in Cyprus several times, but Dome Beach is definitely the hotel that has stood out for us, mainly because of how friendly and welcoming everyone was. We would happily return and would highly recommend it to families looking for a relaxed, friendly and fun hotel in a beautiful part of Ayia Napa. 🌴☀️❤️
