TL:DR - This hotel is great and you should consider it for your next holiday to Paphos! This is the second time I have gone to Paphos and the only place I wanted to stay was the Avlida hotel. It is clean, staff are friendly, food is excellent and caters for a wide range of tastes. The pools are great and the near beach location can only be beaten by on the beach hotels that are double or triple the price! I went all inclusive and the only disappointing thing is the lunch, however, I only had lunch at the hotel once this stay, and once my last stay in 2023. Other times, I was out for lunch anyway. However, it's not inedible, and you can get sandwiches and snacks any time between lunch and dinner. the staff are wonderful and accommodating. My air conditioning wasn't working and I asked for a fan, which they gave me without an issue. The bar staff are great, especially the bar manager, Manos, who is hilarious and makes you feel special (even if he makes everyone feel special!). In the area is the Tomb of the Kings and Venus beach within minutes walking distance. And there is a bus stop right outside if you need to get from one end to the other. There is also and Aldi, great for getting extra water to keep in your room or anything that you might have forgotten to bring with you (next time I go, which I have already booked!) I plan on leaving things at home, such as toiletries, and I'll just get them from Aldi! There are so many restaurants to suit everyone, including McDonalds and KFC nearby for those a bit scared to try the local foods. But honestly, unless you're going out for the day and evening, I would highly recommend returning to the hotel for dinner. I have never had ONE disappointing dinner there. I would highly recommend this hotel. Not a bad experience in 2 years.

My friend and I had a great time staying at the Avlida Hotel. All staff were very friendly especially the bar staff Manolis, George and Chet. We had no issues at all our room was cleaned daily beds changed once during our 7 night stay and towels were changed daily. Food was fine standard All inclusive buffet always something to eat. Would happily stay again

“A few night away”

Stayed in the hotel for a few nights, on arrival we had a leak in the bathroom but we we were moved immediately to another room. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially George who works behind the bar. The pool area was very clean and tidy.

Avlida Hotel, Paphos. We stayed for a week in May at the Avlida Hotel. The Avilida is a good hotel. The excellent food and the quality of the staff are the highlights. However, there are several areas that let it down. ARRIVAL. Arriving at 10pm, we were given a packet of the very worst, stale cheese sandwiches and a carton of orange juice. No fruit, no crisps, no cake, no salad. No Choice! Definitely not satisfactory after a long journey. ROOM: We booked a room with a “sea view”. Arriving after 10pm, it was only the following morning that it was obvious the view was predominantly of a neighbour’s badly kept backyard with the sea several hundred metres in the distance. A better description is “side sea view”. Certainly not worth the extra money. Be warned! Don’t believe the photo!! The room itself is more like a 2 star UK hotel room: very dated decor, but with a comfortable bed and a couple of decent chairs. The bathroom is small but dated, although the shower is a good one. LOBBY: The hotel has a comfortable, large seating area in the lobby, adjacent to the bar. There is a varied programme of entertainment each night. NOISE : If you’re unlucky the worst thing will be the NOISE. The walls are paper thin and you will hear everything that goes on around you. Makes sleeping difficult, if not impossible. MEALS: The food provided is of a very good standard. The breakfast is reasonably varied, although the choice of fresh fruit is limited. But, there is a wide selection of hot and cold food, and plenty of it. Being All Inclusive, we had an excellent lunch in the hotel most days. A combination of tasty hot and cold dishes were on offer. Likewise, the evening meal always comprised of several choices and is based on different themes each evening. It was of good quality and variety. It’s the food that would attract us back. SMOKING: smoking is permitted around the pool and in the Pool Restaurant. It’s not very pleasant if you’re a non smoker. WATER!! Staggeringly, there is nowhere to refill water bottles in the hotel and the tap water is not drinking water. Bottled water is not provided- even for AI guests - beyond one bottle at the start of the week. You are expected to buy water. When I asked, I was told this stopped the spread of disease. It seems a ridiculous system charging AI guests for drinking water. STAFF. The staff are excellent, always eager to help and go the extra mile. A special mention to Agatha on reception, plus Chet and Khum, two of the bar staff. They are full of smiles, friendly greetings and are excellent at their job. LOCATION: The Avlida is directly opposite the Tombs of the Kings, which is certainly worth a visit. But the hotel is on a busy road; not ideal for an evening stroll. The sea and nearest beach is a 7-8 minute walk away, definitely not “2 minutes.” The coastal path is a real bonus; you can walk for miles in either direction.
