We have just returned from a three-week vacation at the Bahia Principe Ambar and cannot recommend it enough. We spent all of our days on the Ambar beach. The weather was excellent, and the water was clean with minimal sargassum. The beach bar was consistently well-maintained and clean, and the bar staff are truly the best—very attentive, knowledgeable, and always working hard with a smile. A special shout-out to Ramon (#1) at the towel service, who greeted me every day with a high-five and a glorious smile to start my day. Our room was kept in pristine condition daily; the housekeeping staff in building #64 (2nd floor) were wonderful and always so happy to see us. I also want to share a big thank you to our concierge, Kevin. He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, from his suggestion to have beer on ice delivered to the beach, to ensuring we had chilled champagne or wine waiting in our room after our beach days. It was also such a pleasure to reconnect with Sandra in building #66 (1st floor). I first met Sandra during our stay in 2019 and have kept in touch ever since; her daily hugs were, as always, perfect. ❤️ From the lobby bar and coffee shop to the gym, the entire team is fantastic. Everyone throughout the complex is well-prepared, professional, and willing to help. There is plenty of nightly entertainment, so there is always something going on. A few tips for future guests: • The "Towel Game": Be prepared to reserve your loungers early! • Bug Protection: Definitely bring bug spray—I recommend Avon Skin So Soft and Muskol. Never go out at night without it. • Aftercare: Don’t forget an anti-itch treatment like Polysporin 1% hydrocortisone just in case. I would absolutely book this resort again. Thank you to the entire staff for making our trip so memorable!

Being in this beautiful property 14 times (Bavaro, Punta Cana, Aquamarine , Ambar )now we like to say, Bahia Principe was more friendly , more comfortable, more variety items in restaurants under the previous original management . New management HYATT is too formal , too corporate. We were disappointed that our established GOLD status with Bahia Principe was not recognized by HYATT.

“Wonderful first trip to Punta Cana”

First time in DR. Beautiful beach. Some days no seaweed at all, other times a lot more. But they do a good job of clearing up. First time in DR. Beautiful beach. Some days no seaweed at all, other times a lot more. But they do a good job of clearing up. People reserving shaded beach areas at 4 in the morning and then barely using the chairs was very annoying. Rooms were nice. Ygnacia kept our room very clean, greeted us every morning and asked if everything was ok. Fridge always replenished. Ambar is not too big, so everything close by. Trolly trains run frequently if you wanted to go to other areas of the complex. Overall loved our trip.

My husband and I ate at the Brazilian restaurant ( Esmeralda) the last night before leaving. We were served a piece of chicken that was not cooked properly and fortunately I noticed after the first bite. Language barrier is a concern and we tried to tell the staff of our concerns . 2 days later ( home now) my husband and I are sick. We missed several days of work. I'm still not well after a week and half . Saw doctor and had stool tested. POSITIVE FOR SALMONELLA!!!!! Impossible to try to find a contact so I can inform management. This is a serious health concern.
